Specifications for Model Rb Radial Blade Pressure Blower

SPECIFICATIONS FOR MODEL “RB” RADIAL BLADE PRESSURE BLOWER

1. The blower shall be produced by a manufacturer who is ISO 9001 certified and has manufactured pressure blowers for a minimum of (10) years.

2. Fan Housing shall be heavy gage, mild steel construction with a continuously welded scroll. Lockseam, crimped, or beaded type construction shall not be accepted External housing bracing shall be angle iron or bar stock. The housing outlet shall be designed to allow a gradually diverging airflow. Housing shall be provided with circular flanged inlet and outlet connections, drilled to match ANSI 150# pipe flanges.

3. Fan Wheel shall be flat radial blade design featuring a 10 gauge front plate, 12 gauge back plate, and 12 gauge blades. Blade stiffeners shall not be allowed. Welding shall be performed by factory qualified personnel who have met the requirements of ASME section IX. The first resonant speed of each rotor shall be not less than 125 percent of normal operating speed, resonant speed being defined as that speed which is equal to the natural frequency of the combined spring mass system of rotor, bearing housings, oil film, and bearing supports; but excluding foundations. Each fan rotor shall be given a dynamic balance such that the final installation will have a maximum imbalance no greater than the 0.5 mil level. The wheel shall be secured to the shaft by means of a keyway and setscrews. In addition, a wheel retainer plate shall be bolted to the end of the fan shaft.

4. The fan/motor shaft end shall be drilled and tapped to accept the wheel retainer bolt.

5. A teflon shaft seal with steel retaining plate shall be provided at the housing side where the shaft enters the housing.

6. All surfaces shall be thoroughly cleaned of all loose mill scale, grease, excessive weld spatter, slag, dirt, and other foreign matter by means of hand tool cleaning followed by a pressurized water wash. Each mild steel component shall be coated with DuPont 67 FD gray primer with a minimum 1.5 DFT. After final assembly, the fan shall receive a final touch-up of primer. 7. The assembled fan/motor assembly shall receive a mechanical run test. Final balance, vibration levels, and RPM shall be recorded and kept on file for a minimum of 5 years.
