Note: Madrid is a large city. Most people commute and mass transit is very good. Some of the Marquette-approved homes are more than a 30 min. commute from the Complutense. We will try to locate students in an area with convenient bus and/or metro service within a reasonable commute. Please note that given the size of Madrid, a 45 minute commute is considered reasonable.
Unarranged Housing: Any student wishing to rent an apartment or to organize his/her own living accommodations is allowed to do so, however it is strongly discouraged, as rental properties are extremely difficult, and often impossible, to find. Please keep in mind that you will be expected to make any and all arrangements for such an apartment without the assistance of the Resident Director in Madrid. The Marquette University Study Center is not responsible for any problems arising from such arrangements. Students who make their own arrangements are expected to stay in a hostel or pensión until they move into their apartments. They may NOT use Marquette arranged housing while looking for an apartment.
ALL STUDENTS MAKING THEIR OWN ARRANGEMENTS FOR HOUSING MUST COMPLETE THIS SECTION. If you don’t have your address yet, complete the rest of the form and send it to the Madrid office. Advise the Resident Director of your address in Madrid as soon as you know it.
