Playground Semester Project

Enduring Understanding: A problem solver understands what has to be done, knows why the progress was appropriate and can support it with reasons and evidence.

Essential Questions: Why is a scale or 3-D model important to use to calculate measurements, budget, and supplies for a large-scale project before you start to build?

You are an architect and have been asked to design a playground for the next elementary school that will be built in Frisco ISD. You are to create a proposal to present to the school board to try and sell them to use your company to build the playground. Within your proposal you must include a scale drawing blueprint with scale key of your playground, a portfolio showing the work and explaining you plan in words as well as how you met the city ordinance and city codes for all playgrounds, and your budget breakdown, and a 3-D model of your playground in material of your choice. You will have a half acre to build your playground and you have received a grant from the state to spend $60,000.

Your proposal will be presented in May to the school board and portions of the project will be due throughout the semester.
