Age Better in Sheffield aims to reduce social isolation in participants over 50 years of age. It is an intervention based approach available to people living in the following wards: Beauchief & Greenhill, Burngreave, Firth Park and Woodhouse. Some surrounding areas are also included, please contact us for more details and to confirm eligibility. Interventions Wellbeing • Is low mental wellbeing the main cause of your social Practitioners isolation? (Sheffield Mind) • Are you looking for a counselling service to address your low mental wellbeing? Access Ambassadors • Is using transport or access in your community the main (SYHA) cause of your social isolation? • Are you looking to help others reduce social isolation by exploring different transport options? Peer Mentoring • Are you at risk of experiencing isolation as a result of any (Sheffield Cubed) changes that are about to happen in your life? • Are you looking for an intervention from a peer? • Are you looking to help someone at risk of social isolation? Ageing Better • Are you currently or have you recently experienced social Champions isolation and looking for an intervention from a peer? (Sheffield Cubed) • Have you experienced social isolation and want to help someone who is currently socially isolated? Intergenerational • Are you interested in learning a new skill/activity with a Skill Swap person aged 49 or under? (RVS) • Are you looking to learn something new and teach a skill to someone else? Intergenerational 5 • Are you looking to help a younger person who is at risk of Ways to Wellbeing social isolation? (RVS) Start up Squad • Are you looking to start something up new in your local area? (Ignite Imaginations) • Would you like to be more involved in your local community?
