Update – Sabine Ship Channel Reopens The Coast Guard Captain of the Port, Capt. Sharon Richey, opened the Sabine Ship Channel to all ship traffic at 10 p.m. on Saturday April 30th. The Sabine Ship Channel was closed Thursday April 28th at approximately 11:30 a.m. following the collision between the 784-foot tanker Genmar Strength and the 101-foot crew boat Rene I. As a result of the collision, the Rene I capsized and sank with four crewmembers aboard. As of 10 a.m. April 30th there were 11 ships waiting to enter the ship channel from the Gulf of Mexico and nine waiting to depart. Dominion Integrates Into PJM Dominion successfully integrated at 12:01 a.m. Sunday into PJM Interconnection, the nation's largest regional transmission organization. PPL’s Susquehanna 1,140MW Unit 2 Restarts April 30 Operators restarted unit 2 at the Susquehanna nuclear power plant and reconnected to the electrical transmission network Saturday after repairing the cooling system on the unit's main transformer. Dominion’s 1,030MW Millstone Unit 3 Nuke at 66 Percent The unit tripped on April 17th after a malfunctioning circuit falsely indicated low steam pressure. Reuters 1443, May 2, 2005

Progress Energy’s 900MW Harris Nuke Back Online The unit shut on Sunday to repair a pump. Reuters 1443, May 2, 2005 Progress Energy’s 811MW Brunswick 2 Nuke at 94 Percent, NC The unit was up to 94 percent from 67 percent early Monday. OPEC Reaches Record Output OPEC-10 production is now 29.7 mil b/d, up from 27.7 mil b/d, according to president Sheikh Ahmed Fahed al-Sabah.
