MACOMB CENTENNIAL MORNING ROTARY CLUB 19 November 2009

President Chris called the meeting to order at 7 a.m. Tom Blackford offered the invocation; Sharon Larson led the Pledge of Allegiance; Eric Moe challenged the club to a rendition of “If You’re Happy.”

Attendance

Rick Iverson announced that there were thirty members present: Tom Blackford, Dan Colvin, Nancy Colvin, Rick Crossett, Lindsey Curtis, John Gage, Matt Glaser, Earl Godt, Ryan Hansen, Don Hubner, Monica Iverson, Rick Iverson, Don Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Sharon Larson, John Maguire, Eric Moe, Susan Moore, Kay Norton, Scott Parke, Julie Anne Pickett, Bill Poncin, Alene Reuschel, Forrest Robinson, Lin Stults, Chris Sutton, Michelle Terry, John Vigezzi, Dan Wise, and Paula Wise. Also present were Honorary Member Dick Passmore and Exchange Student Joachim Hanus.

There were five visiting Rotarians from the Macomb noon club: George Russell, Dominick Ascone, Dennis Iversen, Joyce Taylor, and Nick Estes. There were three guests: Maureen Marol (sister of Monica Iverson); soon-to-be-inducted Ray Diez; and member-in-waiting Sophie Hansen.

Official Business

President Chris reviewed the events at the District Conference, noting how beneficial it was.

President Chris had those involved with the Altrusa bazaar and the coat drive stand to be recognized.

President Chris read a thank-you note from the Altrusa Club President Chris reminded the club of upcoming service projects:  Western Illinois Museum – 24 November and 9 December  Leaf raking at Camp Chicagama – 28 November  Bell ringing at Farm King – 5 December  Lights of Love

President Chris announced that Ray Diez and Daniel Marvin will be inducted on 3 December.

President Chris asked the members to be thinking about a potential literacy project.

John Vigezzi showed the club the new Rotary license plates that are now available.

Eric Moe provided Foundation fact brochures.
