Sugru Continues U.S. Expansion with New Hardware Retailer Listings

Sugru, the world’s first moldable glue, continues expansion across the U.S as the brand moves into the Hardware division

New York, N.Y. – Sugru continues to drive its U.S. expansion plans as the world’s first moldable glue becomes available in smaller hardware stores nationwide. New retailers include; Ace Hardware, True Value Hardware and Do It Best, as well as major hardware wholesalers Orgill.

Since its U.S launch in January 2015, Sugru has secured listings with larger key retailers such as Target and The Container Store. The brand is now exploring additional DIY markets, with the product becoming increasingly available at smaller independent and co-op hardware stores across the U.S.

America now accounts for 50% of the brand’s overall sales, with products available in over 2200 stores nationwide. Launching online back in 2010, when the first 1000 packs sold out in just six hours, Sugru has now sold in excess of 8 million individual packs worldwide. With the aim of becoming a household brand that sits in every kitchen drawer, Forbes calls Sugru “The 21st Century Duct Tape.”

Sugru’s unique formulation allows it to turn into a strong flexible rubber overnight, making it easy for anyone to fix hundreds of household problems. It adheres strongly and securely across many surfaces and environments – from the freezer to a steamy shower and from the home to the great outdoors.

Jane Ni Dhulchaointigh, CEO and inventor of Sugru commented:

The sales figures alone highlight the demand level for an innovative product that appeals to the fixing and mending trend and mindset here in the States. As a result, we’re excited as a brand to be moving further into the hardware space, making Sugru easily accessible and available to DIY enthusiasts”.
