BETH ABRAHAM BOARD MEETING MINUTES

February 24, 2014

In attendance: Matt Arnovitz,, Penney Fraim, Michael Freed, Ira Fritz, Angela Frydman, David Fuchsman, Meryl Hattenbach, Marc Katz, Marcia Kress, Michael Leffak, Norm Lewis, Scott Liberman, Marlene Pinsky, Terry Pinsky, Bonnie Rice, Jeff Roberts, Lee Schear, Andy Schwartz, Lawrence Wagenfeld, Mary Rita Weissman. Staff: Rabbi Ginsberg, Cantor Raizen, Elaine Arnovitz, Annette Fredenburgh. Allan Spetter attended in place of Irwin Dumtschin

Mary Rita called the meeting to order.

Approval of Nov. 25 Minutes: Marlene Pinsky amended the minutes by removing the reference to the dollar amount being paid to settle the bingo rent issue. The dollar amount was not mentioned at the meeting. Matt Arnovitz moved to accept the minutes as amended. Terry Pinsky seconded. The motion passed.

Financial Report: Mike reviewed the January financials. The revenue is a little behind but overall the budget is in good shape.

Church Update: Scott reported the sales contract for Salem is going to be extended and hopefully will close. However, we have been receiving the $1200 per month.

Bingo Update: The Synagogue has made the final payment with the Landlord for $6250 plus ½ of courst costs. Bingo is complete finished and closed.

BAS Committee Changes: Steve Fraim has agreed to chair a new Technology Committee. He will work with office to bring new technology to BAS. Norm Lewis will now chair the Cemetery Committee. Anyone who would like to serve on this committee should contact Norm. Bonnie Rice has resigned as chair of the Social Action committee after 11 years. A new chair is needed and all suggestions are welcome. Chaya Vidal will chair a group who will visit and make calls to shut ins and those who are sick. She will work with the Rabbi to coordinate this.

Installation: Rabbi Ginsberg will be installed at a Shabbat Service on June 14. Mark Feuer and Susie Katz are chairs of the event. Anyone who is interested in helping with this should let one of them know.

Good and welfare: The board thanked Scott Liberman for all his work and dedication to Bingo.
