January 12, 2015 SAC Minutes

Present: Patricia Jenkins, Penelope Stetson, Nancy Ryan, Shirley Walker.

Visitors: Marion Kelsey, Carla Corey.

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM.

The minutes of December 8, 2014 were approved as read.

Old Business: Three topics were brought forth to the committee at the December meeting--(1) Frisbee Golf Course was suggested as a possibility to be built at LRP. Shirley will bring that to the attention of LRC; (2) Dog Sitter for a Day—committee not in favor of pursuing this program because of liability and other issues; (3) Emergency listing in Foster’s—committee thinks the Emergency Operations Center should be the responsible party as they know what/where programs are being offered and that local radio announcements could also work. Other Old Business: (4) Pen Pal Program at Mast Way School—two students and two adult community members are now involved. Shirley will contact Brenda Tirrell, Guidance Counselor, to see if other teachers/students are interested as two more adults have expressed an interest in the program; (5) List of senior residents to share with Chief Dronsfield—we have three households that could be included that are not on his list. (5) Senior Housing—Nancy will invite Karen Gould, Eco- Home Developer who holds property in Lee, to our February meeting as we continue to do our search for information on the subject.

New Business: (1) E-Crier Notes placement—place SAC Notes before Nature Walk News. Include in Notes that we are exploring senior housing and are seeking input from residents in Lee who might be interested in senior housing. Nancy’s email address will be provided for responses. (2) Nancy’s suggestion for focus: make a list of all our activities; continue to work with other town committees, commissions, library; focus on a doable project; continue established programs as the Lee Fair Apple Crisp; revisit Sunny’s owner for lunch idea.
