Introductions

1. Ask students to recall what their very first day of school was like. Did they have a fun first day? Discuss. Today we are going to read about Timothy and his first day of school. Let’s see how much fun his first day is.

2. Have some items that a student might need for the first day of school. Discuss what they are and what they are needed for with students. Today we are going to read “Timothy Goes to School”. Let’s read and find out how his first day is.

3. Have the word “perfect” displayed for students. Ask them to explain what it means and if anyone they know is perfect. Let’s read about Timothy who goes to school for the first time and has a hard time getting along with Claude-who Timothy thinks appears to be perfect.
