April 21, 2010 Northfield Fastpitch Softball Association Board Meeting

The board meeting was held at Beef O’ Brady’s and was called to order at 6:32 PM

Members Present: Jason Rieck, Wayne Vasilis, Pam Bicek, Juli Standfuss, Amy Olson, Mark Pritchard and Dan Deanovic , Rich Guggisberg

A motion was made by Pam and seconded by Jason to approve the minutes from the April 5, 2010 meeting. Motion carried

Financial Status: Went over checkbook balance. Upcoming expenditures – coaches, insurance for tournament and league

Website: Would like pictures or articles to put on website – if anyone takes some send to Jason

Fundraising: Bought 50 Papa Murphy cards and will sell in concession stands

Spring League: We have a total of 126 girls for spring league. Board members should be there whenever possible Rich showed us a list of skills the coached get each week for the girls to work on May 27th will be the ice cream social Mondays will be practice and Thursdays will be games

Summer League: We will run an ad in the news for summer league Ken will coordinate umps again Rich handed out a flyer to the high school girls Decided to hire coaches for all 3 groups this year. We have interest in all age groups Decided coaches pay for this year Next meeting will decide who will coach each age group Coaches will decide with the board on where they would like to go for their tournaments U12 will be 1 tournament U14 will be 2 tournaments(If possible) U16 will be 3 tournaments(if possible) Mark will be checking into insurance for both the tournament in Northfield and for the league

Misc: Went over the calendar and added as needed Mark will work on the 501(c)(3) A lot of the steps are already in place Fee is steep for 1st time around Rich asked if we would be willing to donate funds for food to the Hutchinson and Northfield double header . Board voted to give $200 and volunteer to help serve or whatever help is needed. Juli will contact Diane Torbenson and let her know. Bobbi Jo Polzin has volunteered to be concession stand coordinator. Wayne will bring additional information on netting to next meeting. The association will match funds up to $100 for Hits for Hanna(a student from Rochester diagnosed with bone cancer) the high school is raising money for this cause.
