Heaven and How to Get There Puppet Play Aim: An introduction to teaching the one way to Heaven. Puppets: One boy and one girl. (May be read by two children and used as a skit.)
Stevie: (looking at phone) Let’s see now. (pause) If we take I-70 to highway 37 (pause) and get off here, (pause) that should put us right where we want to go.
Sandy: (enters) Hi, Steve! Have you figured out how to get to that new ice cream shop?
Stevie: I sure have! It’s a good thing I have this GPS app on my phone to show the way.
Sandy: Looking at a GPS for directions is handy, isn’t it?
Stevie: Without it we’d be lost.
Sandy: Did you know that there’s a GPS that shows people how to get to Heaven?
Stevie: There is?
Sandy: There sure is! In fact, I was reading it this morning.
Stevie: I thought the way to get to Heaven was by being a good person. I didn’t know there was a GPS to show a person how to get there.
Sandy: The GPS I’m talking about is the Bible.
Stevie: I never thought of the Bible as a GPS before.
Sandy: The Bible tells us of the only way to be able to live with God in Heaven. Being a good person doesn’t have anything to do with it.
Stevie: Well, what is the only way to get to Heaven?
Sandy: Let’s go get my Bible and I’ll show you!
Stevie: Okay! (puppets exit)
Teacher: Read John 14:6 and share the message of salvation with the children. Suggested song: One Way (CEF Press®) Written by Tim and Lisa Deam © 2012 Tim and Lisa Deam
