Catholic Charities of St. Louis Executive Assistant
CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF ST. LOUIS, a federation of eight agencies, has been helping people in need since 1912. In response to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our mission is to serve people in need, especially those who are poor and vulnerable; work to improve social conditions for all people in the community; and call members of the Church and community to do the same. On an annual basis, the Catholic Charities Federation assists over 147,000 people, through 100 programs at 50 sites, in 11 counties of the St. Louis metropolitan area.
This position will provide a broad range of administrative support for the operations of Catholic Charities Administration. This includes administrative secretarial/clerical support primarily to the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and the Director of Advocacy. Work regularly involves management of multiple projects, independent decisions concerning procedures and processes to be followed and action to be taken, and the handling of sensitive and confidential material requiring the utmost discretion. While the position reports administratively to the CDO, the allocation of time will vary from week to week across the departments served, with priorities and resource conflicts agreed by the department heads as much in advance as possible. Because of this, the position requires productivity and effectiveness in the execution and prioritization of activities and a collaborative team-based approach. Approximately 30%-to-40% of time will be in the front desk receptionist role.
Qualifications: Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple and diverse tasks. Experience in executive level support activities, including customer service and secretarial or related clerical work practices and processes. Must have considerable knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment as well as knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic. Must also have working knowledge of the principles of office management and of standard record maintenance procedures. Must have current knowledge of computer-based word processing applications and additional office software. Raisers Edge experience is desirable. High School diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Social Work or related field of study is desirable
