When she was 18, Celine Dion and Rene Angelil thought that the time had come to introduce her to the United States, the center of international show business. Celine and Rene, however, had a problem. She had to express herself in English in order to succeed in the United States. She said to herself, “If I could speak English like a native speaker, I could go to New York now!” Celine was born and brought up in a society where French is mainly spoken, and she had learned very little English. Then she decided to master English and practiced it for eight hours a day. Two months later, she was able to speak English like a native speaker. She also mastered other foreign languages in a short time. She then became a superstar around the world as well as in Canada.
