The Opportunity The Faculty of Arts is seeking a dynamic Senior Development Officer to work within the Advancement team to support the major gift program. This is an exciting and challenging role that requires a results-oriented and creative individual with demonstrated relationship building skills. We are looking for an individual with proven ability to think strategically and work independently to drive new initiatives or enhance existing programs and to be able to effectively articulate these initiatives. Desired Skills and Experience  University degree and recent fundraising experience with 3-5 years’ experience in securing major gifts, or extensive equivalent education and experience  Strong track record of success in developing and executing cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies at the major gift level, project management and producing supporting material  Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines in an organized manner  Strong leadership, communication (oral and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills  The candidate should have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, and preference will be given to candidates who have experience with Constituent Management Software (i.e. Raiser’s Edge) or similar applications  Proven ability to work collaboratively in a high functioning team within a dynamic environment is crucial to this role  Strong understanding of the university environment including the integration of research is an asset  Experience fundraising in a university environment is a strong asset  Frequent travel as well as evening and week-end work is a requirement of this position  CFRE or fundraising certificate is a strong asset Salary Grade: USG 11 The full job description is available at: https://uwaterloo.ca/my-career/external- opportunities/external-opportunities#ID3032 Apply directly by emailing your resume and cover letter as one document to: [email protected] Important note: To ensure that your application is successfully submitted, please put your cover letter, resume, and any other information into ONE document and have a unique file name such as yourname.doc.
