Introduction

There are times when children and their families need some extra help, and in Walsall we have committed to working together to provide timely support so children get the help they need, when they need it, in a way that works best for them and their families: our pledge to them is to offer 'early help, early on'.

This guide aims to give Lead Professionals and Social Workers information to support children, young people and their families to access the full range of services available as part of a Child Protection/Child in Need or Early Help Assessment plan or step down.

This guide is regularly updated, so we recommend professionals to access it through the website http://www.mywalsall.org/walsallearlyhelp/ ,rather than keeping a printed copy.
