Description of Business Environment: This programme will deliver a multi phased programme to train commercial nuclear operators and technicians for a new generation of Nuclear Power stations. The programme will adopt a systematic approach to training and will include the following disciplines/roles; Human Performance Engineering, Curriculum Development, development and use of Advanced Simulation Products/Training Aids, Courseware development, Training and Education delivery and Trainee management. The selected candidate will join the Global Training Services team as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Developing and implementing program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.

Specific Job Description: This job is for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work with the Programmes Nuclear SMEs and the LM Analysis and design team performing a variety of functions including ensuring that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyses and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Key Responsibilities Provide expert knowledge and design support to the LM UK training and development teams by undertaking Lockheed Martin Quality Assurance Engineering activities including:

 Providing oversight to quality assurance activities in the analysis, design, and development for the programme training programme for system operators, technicians. Instructors and support personnel.

Required Skills: Typical Minimum Education & Experience:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. Considered career, or journey, level.  Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.  Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. In-plant nuclear experience in the commercial or defence nuclear propulsion domains. Experience in working in domestic and international nuclear energy domains. Experience in designing training solutions that include affective domain training. Previous experience in designing training solutions in the nuclear energy domain is desirable.
