Lake Arrowhead Elementary School PTA Executive Board Meeting April 11, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 3:00

Members present: Caroline Romero, Lynne Lomenick, Katherine Richardson, Starr Burgoyne, Trina Shea, Dorinda Sullivan, Sarah Pierson, Natasha lewis, Michelle Rundle, Kathy Cerwin, Laurel Fretz

Secretary’s Report: Sarah Pierson The minutes from the March 14, 2017 Board Meeting will be filed as read. Principal's Report: Laurel Fretz was present to answer an questions about Odyssey support.

President’s Report: Lynne Lomenick  Mountain Counsil - they are in need aof a president for next year  New Board Training – June 10 for anyone interested  Installation Dinner – April 26, RSVP for 5  RIM Ed Foundation Annual Fashion Show – May 7 Treasurer’s Report: Trina Shea Balance Forward $22,187.17 Total Deposits $6,349.75 Total Disbursements $4,994.44 Balance on Hand $23,542.50 Trina made a motion to ratify checks 3458-3463. MSC Committee Reports: a. Yearbook – will go to press on 4/17/17 b. Box tops – Dana - $162.90 for February c. Muffins w/Mom – May 12 – Lynne & Caroline – ordered 650 d. Donuts w/Dad – June 5 – Michelle & Trina – ordered 650 e. Hospitality – Staff Appreciation Week – May 8-12 – Kellie Geer f. Family Fun Night – Tile painting – May 10 2:30 – 6:00 Dana call Cheryl to get supply info. Kathy will do flier. g. Ice Cream Social - May 25 – Bahena family will donate the ice cream, PTA do the cups, spoons, toppings h. Book Fair – May 15 – 19, Kari will post for volunteers. Several board members volunteered for different days. Old Business  Teacher Surveys – have been reviewed, overall consensus of sound system for cafeteria (to go with big screen TV’s) and field trip bus money  Dorinda’s Library proposal – PTA discussed and voted to pay for the signage portion of the proposal. Would like the seating (couch) portion to go back to a staff discussion at the next staff meeting. Dorinda will get an exact amount, should be around $650. New Business  PTA would like to support Odyssey of the Mind in its endeavor to raise money for the “World” competion in Michigan in May. Local companies that would like to donate will have an ad in our yearbook.  Discussion about “Cell Phone Free Zone” signs to be posted around front fence – good idea.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:00. The next meeting will be Monday, May 8 at 3:00 in room A9.
