Ladies and Gentlemen,

FOURTH ANNUAL RNRMRA DINNER – WED 27th JUN 07

1. The fourth annual RNRMRA dinner will take place on Wed 27 Jun 07 in the Army Target Shooting Clubhouse at 1930 for 2000.

2. The Dinner is open to all members of RNRMRA Area Command Associations, Shooting Disciplines, Bisley Range Staff and anyone associated with Navy Shooting.

3. This year we will be dining out Cdr Graham Edmonds, Chairman of the Portsmouth Area Rifle Association who is retiring from the RN and who has been involved, in one form or another, with Navy Shooting for more years than me ! Also being dined out will be Lt Ian Green, outgoing Chairman of the Naval Air Command Rifle Association and Cdr Trevor Gulley, outgoing Chairman of the Plymouth and Scotland Area Rifle Association.

4. We will of course be joined by our own President, Rear Admiral Philip Wilcocks CB DSC, our Honorary Vice President, Mr David Gosling and the Presidents and Chairmen of the associations and disciplines which make up Navy Shooting. We also hope to be joined by Captain Richard Powell who is the new DACOS AWB to CinCFLEET and Lt Col Jim McClaren who looks after Royal Marine Competitive Shooting issues within the HQ. We will be hosting friends from the Army Rifle Association, in particular Lt Col Lester Holley who has taken over as the Secretary of the ARA from Richard Hoole.

5. The main event however will, hopefully, be the opportunity for all of us involved in Navy Shooting in whatever capacity over the years to get together and enjoy a cracking good dinner and a few beers together in the wonderful surroundings of the Army Mess at Bisley, the home of marksmanship. 6. It has been decided that in order to encourage maximum attendance, the cost will be distributed on a modified “stripe” basis. Civilian and former Service personnel will be charged at the rate of £30 per head. Retired Officers and Warrant Officers will be charged the rate in accordance with their former rank. A minimum of 40 attendees are required to make the event viable. Cost inclusive of wine and port will be as follows:

Senior Officers (Cdr and above) £40 Junior Officers/Warrant Officers £35 Senior Rates £30 Junior Rates £20

7. Rig for the evening will be Blazer/Jacket and tie. (RNRMRA Ties are available for purchase from the Secretary)

8. All area command and shooting discipline representatives are requested to pass a copy of this letter to their members, who should return the attached form below to the address as per letterhead in confirmation of their intention to attend the dinner. Cheques should be made payable to the RNRMRA and will be returned uncashed in the unfortunate event of cancellation.

9. Please pass a copy of this letter to anyone who is a friend of Navy Shooting, who might have been missed off the distribution and who might like to attend.

10. I look forward to seeing you all there.
