All Star Kids – Get moving and use small and large motor skills to learn math facts. Exercising and game play go hand in hand in this class! Calculator Fun- Use the calculator to solve riddles problems and have fun. Card and Puzzle Sharks – Students will develop higher level thinking skills as they devise strategies for being a successful player. Students will play 21, 99, Math War, In Between, Memory, Pyramid Solitaire, and put together jigsaw puzzles. Computer Wizards - Students will have an opportunity to participate in several computer application programs, power point, interactive lessons, virtual math and science investigation. Computer Coding- Explore the computer world and programs using ipads. Have you wondered how computer applications are built? This class will explore and help understand software programming. Construction Zone – Students will build objects and structures using various kinds of construction kits such as blocks, legos, K-Nex, and more. Creative Critters – Come jumpstart your creativity with Critter Crafts. Fun science projects for little hands. There will be a variety of arts and crafts activities using various materials. Drafting- Students will learn to draw and use techniques used to build mechanical and architectural structures. Engineering Design - Students will acquire and apply technical, scientific and mathematic knowledge to design machines and devices. Pulleys, wheels and other materials will be used to design machines and system connectivity. Grand Masters of Chess – Students will learn to be a grand master of chess. Learn to evaluate the position of your pieces in relation to your opponents. Human Body- Healthy eating, exercise and the food plate will all be apart of this class. Learn to build a body puzzle and learn healthy foods! Ipad Mania- Students will use the iPad to investigate science and math apps as well as use apps to increase brain power using puzzles and games. Junior Master Gardener- This class covers a broad range of horticultural and environmental education topics. Science process skills, observation, taking measurements, and problem solving are naturally integrated into the class through group and individual learning experiences. Literature Café- Explore novels and short tales and discuss with your friends. Make creative displays for your favorite novel and author. Math Mania – Action-packed games that make it fun to learn. These games will challenge critical thinking skills and provide students with an outlet for having fun while using their brains creatively. Math Games - Students will play math games to test their knowledge and learn amazing facts. Math Arts – Students are challenged to replicate various creations using geometric shapes. One-dimensional piece of paper will be turn into three- dimensional piece of artwork. Math & Science Tunes – Students will learn science and math through music. It stimulates and unifies cognitive function and automatically touches three of the four modalities through which the brain processes information. Math Songs- Students will learn their facts, strategies and problem solving through song. (Upper Grades) Math and Science in Espanol (Spanish)- Passport to language! Learn a second language or perfect your skills all while learning math and science objectives! Explore countries, food and their different cultures. Ooey Gooey Science- Students will enjoy making slime, blowing bubbles and using food items to measure, create and enjoy math properties and solutions. Oceanography - Students will learn the study of the environment in the ocean including the waters depths, beds, animals, and plants. Students will design, create, and build a project using the information they learned. Origami- Explore the world of paper folding and the art of using symmetry and angles to design. Robotics - Students will discover how robots use programming to perform a variety of functions. Explore the possibilities of a functioning robot. Previous experience required CLOSED 2nd 12 weeks Beginning Robotics- Interested in Robotics? Join us to learn the fundamentals of programming and construction of Robots. No previous experience required. This class is open only to students who have not taken it previously. Read and Write Café- Travel in time reading books and write and illustrate your own story all in the read and write café! Read and Relax- Grab your favorite book and pillow and find a cozy place to read! Rockin’ Robotics- Students will begin at an early age to learn simple machines, follow directions and build using the Lego system. Science Games – Students will build confidence and motivation to achieve and succeed by playing science games and assorted board games using your skills. Students will reinforce standards-specific content connected to class lesson plans and balance to match state specifications in life science, earth science, and physical science. Science Book Club – The book club for the curious is just the thing for you. The reading group is designed especially for those who are interested in science. Science Wheels-Engaging manipulative wheels provide the perfect tool for students to learn about patterns in nature - such as life cycles, phases of the moon, changing seasons- and to identify types of animals, plants, rocks, clouds, and more. Science of Puppets- Learn how to design and build puppets using different fabrics and supplies. The final presentations will include a puppet show for an audience.
