New Orleans musician Chris Dreisbach, a musician from the WELS church in New Orleans LA. will be at St. John Maribel on June 3 rd for a concert at 6:30pm. Chris is a musician who was an atheist for a long time. Through God’s Word, the Holy Spirit worked to bring him to faith and now he travels and tells the story of how God saved him and the story of how God saved his church in New Orleans after the devastating hurricane. Chris has played close to 500 concerts in the last five years at different WELS congregations. Please mark this date on your calendar and invite family and friends to join us on that evening.
Presentation On May 22nd from 2-4pm St. John-St. Peter Cleveland WI will be hosting a presentation by Professor Paul Boehlke. The theme of the Presentation will be how a Christian deals with Evolution. With the prevalence of the theory of evolution in society and especially in public education, this is an important matter for Christians to consider. Everyone is certainly welcome. Please join us for the presentation, snacks and a Question and Answer session.
Summer Service times Beginning after Memorial Day, we will switch to summer service times. There will be 7pm service on Thursday nights and a 9am service on Sunday mornings. June 2nd there will be a special Ascension Day service at 7pm.

Lambeau Field concession stand Update The Kenny Chesney Concert is on Saturday, June 11th which is not far off. Those that are interested to serve on that day please sign up on the signup sheet downstairs. Those that are thinking of serving during the season, there is also a sign-up sheet in the basement. This year the Packer schedule is going to have a lot of evening games that would not take away from our regular church service schedule. Thinking positive for this season we should be able to have a couple of playoff games also. If those volunteers’ from last year want to e-mail Steve Zeitler (863-8411) back that would be fine to at [email protected]. As a follow up to last season we collected a total of $1,928.24 in tips. The “volunteers’’ voted to disperse the funds as follows $771.29 to General Fund, $642.75 for Commons Serving Room, and $514.20 for our own Church Mission and Outreach Fund.
Food Pantry The Food Pantry distribution is always the last Wednesday of the month from 3:00 -4:30 p.m. There is a desperate need for volunteers to help put up tables, unpack cases of canned goods, and help with the distribution from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on that day. Could you spare four hours a month??? If you have questions, please talk to Joan Pahl (863-6666). You may give money toward the purchase of these items by putting it in your weekly contribution envelope and indicate the amount under “Food Pantry”. If you would rather give non-perishable foods, personal items, or paper products, these are still always appreciated. Just put them in the box on the refrigerator in the church basement.
Volunteers needed Loving Arms is in need of more volunteers. We currently have 4 children under the age of 9 months and usually have 10-13 children between the ages of 1-4. Help is especially needed from 7:30-10:00 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays and some afternoons from 2-5. Please talk to June Waege if you are interested. Volunteers do not need to commit to a certain day or time. Worker schedules vary week to week.
Loving Arms Loving Arms is looking to hire someone to help with the meal preparation and clean up from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM. Ideally we would like someone each day, but 2-3 days would also be sufficient. All food and cleaning supplies are supplied by Loving Arms. If you are interested, please talk to June Waege. (905-5170) Loving Arms is looking for more gently used toys, picture books, puzzles, toy musical instruments, and games for children ages 0-5. If you have any that you would like to donate, please speak with June Waege. Any items received that are not needed will either be returned to you or given to Repeat Performance. Thanks!
