ARTICLING AT WALSH

At Walsh LLP students can expect to receive a well-rounded set of articles. We believe that providing students with real-world legal experience and responsibility is the best way for students and young lawyers to learn. Accordingly, we place an emphasis on ensuring that students have ‘hands-on’ learning experiences during their articling year. From the time our students first join us, they will find themselves meeting with clients, drafting legal documents, appearing in court, and sitting in on and running their own applications and trials with the supervision and guidance of our Partners and Senior Associates. We do not have a structured rotation program, but rather ensure that students are exposed to a wide range of legal matters and encourage students to pursue work in the areas of law which interest them most. As we hope that each of our students will remain with the firm following their articling year, we place an emphasis on providing ongoing formal and informal mentorship and support for students and junior associates.

JOIN US!

Walsh LLP recruits one student-at-law each year.

In selecting an articling student, our objective is to identify the candidate who we believe will be the best fit for a long term career with the firm. We are looking for students who are not only academically successful but also demonstrate the hallmarks of Walsh LLP’s firm culture: loyalty, hard work, collegiality, and involvement in their local community.

We adhere to the Law Society of Alberta student recruitment rules, and will be abiding by the following recruitment timelines.
