Colorado Mesa University Daniels Fund Boundless Opportunity Scholarship 2017-2018
Colorado Mesa University (CMU) has been awarded a Daniels Fund Boundless Opportunity Scholarship grant. The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship (BOS) benefits motivated non-traditional students who recognize the value of an education in creating a better life for themselves and their families. The CMU BOS serves two non-traditional student populations (adult learners age 25+ and/or GED recipients), and is intended to help students able to demonstrate the need for financial assistance as they invest in themselves through continued education.
About the Program Scholarship recipients must be residents of the State of Colorado. The scholarship is designed to assist TRiO participants who are pursuing a baccalaureate degree. Students must have a documented financial need and must be either an adult learner (non-traditional student age 25+), or a GED recipient. Students must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) beginning with the Fall 2016 semester. Scholarship recipients are required to meet with their TRiO mentor on a monthly basis.
Award Information Eight scholarships are available. Scholarship amount is $4,000 per academic year for the 2017-18 academic year. An academic year is the fall and spring semester. Award amount is $2,000 per semester for 2 semesters. The scholarship may only be used for the following expenses: tuition and fees, room and board (on campus only), books and supplies, and transportation/commuting expenses (gas/public transportation costs only). As a need-based scholarship students must have a documented financial need on file in CMU’s Financial Aid Office.
Additional Scholarship Requirements If awarded a scholarship, students will be required to meet/maintain the following conditions each semester in order to retain the scholarship:
Complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of coursework with an acceptable grade of C or better each semester. Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5. Meet monthly with your TRiO mentor. Must have a documented financial need on file with CMU’s Financial Aid Office.
Application Deadline All documents must be received by June 30th, 2017 to be considered for the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship.
