2016-17 Ag Enhancement Matching Grant for McLean County Ag-Ed Programs
McLean County Farm Bureau® Foundation offers special funding to support Agricultural Education programs at high schools that teach McLean County Youth. (Schools identified: Blue Ridge, El Paso-Gridley, Heyworth, LeRoy, Lexington, Normal Community, Normal West, Olympia, Prairie Central, Ridgeview, Tri-Valley and University High School) 1. McLean County Farm Bureau Foundation will provide matching funds for Ag Education programs that meet the following criteria: a. Local contributions match – dollar for dollar match for funds contributed to the school for the same purpose as this grant request. Students must be involved in the fundraising process. b. Ag service project match – student volunteer hours matched at minimum wage rate (schools earn $8.25 per hour per student). Volunteer hours must be at Ag related events. 2. Grant funds must be used for ag education purposes (computers, equipment, programs, conferences, classroom needs, etc.) 3. Up to $1,000 will be available for each high school during the Matching Grant program year (August through April). Grant payments will be issued after December 1, 2016. 4. Schools must submit the Grant Request Form on or before May 1, 2017. 5. Funds may not be used for food, parties, awards or fundraising activities – greenhouse plant sales count as fundraising activities. 6. Upon completion of the grant project, please send a thank you with any pictures or news clippings to the McLean County Farm Bureau Foundation at the address below.
