ILLICT LIQUOR SUPPLIER APPREHENDED: 64 CARTONS OF ILLICIT LIQUOR & ONE OPEL ASTRA CAR RECOVERED

South District Police has arrested one supplier of an interstate gang of illicit liquor, who is a desperate History Sheeter of Police Station Sangam Vihar and is involved in 43 cases of Excise Act, Arms Act etc. With his arrest, 64 cartons of illicit/spurious liquor have been recovered alongwith Opel Astra car used for transportation of illicit liquor in Delhi.

ACCUSED ARRESTED:

Shashi age 27 years S/o Sh. Om Prakash R/o L-823, Street No. 8, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi

INCIDENT, TEAM & ARREST:

In the recent past, several complaints were received regarding an organized gang involved in supply of illicit/spurious liquors in various parts of Delhi and even to Govt. liquor vends. It was also reported that these persons have contacts with Govt. wine shops and they supply liquor to these shops also at cheaper rates. They specially supply that brand of liquor which is prohibited in Delhi. In order to prevent these incidents and to nab the criminals actively involved in this crime, several teams were constituted in South District.

A team of Police Station Fatehpur Beri, South District consisting of SI Deepak, HC Ashok, Cts. Surender Kumar & Dharmender Kumar under the supervision of Inspector A.K. Singh and Sh. Devender Arya, IPS was formed to collect information and bust the gang involved in these activities.

The team so formed worked very hard and collected details of several criminals previously involved in such cases and activated their secret informers to develop information about the criminals involved in supply of illicit liquor. These details were analyzed minutely and on the basis of secret information, it came to fore that a History Sheeter Shashi of Sangam Vihar was actively involved in supplying the spurious liquor in Delhi. The hard work of police team bore results and specific information was received on 07.05.2010 that Shashi would come towards Gujjar Chowk from Gurgaon in a car with illegal liquor.

As per information, the team laid a trap on 07.05.2010 on Gujjar Chowk Aya Nagar and started checking vehicles coming from Gurgoan. At around 9.40 A.M. one Opel Astra car No. HR-26K-6391 coming from Gurgoan side and was signaled to stop. The driver of the car instead of stopping the car, tried to drive away, but the alert police team blocked the car by putting barricades and overpowered the occupant. The driver of the car was identified as Shashi s/o Sh. Om Prakash. On checking, 44 Cartons of Rashila Santra Country Made liquor and 20 Cartons of Bonnie Whisky were recovered from the car. A case vide FIR No. 85/10, u/s 61/78 Excise act was registered at Police Station Fateh Pur Beri, New Delhi and the accused was arrested.

INTERROGATION & PROFILE:

On interrogation, it revealed that the accused was going to supply this liquor in Sangam Vihar area. Accused Shashi is active in all parts of Delhi and supplies the illicit liquor to various bootleggers in Delhi. He has been in this trade for the last 6/7 years. He used to sell liquor from his residence in Sangam Vihar. He is a History Sheeter of Police Station Sangam Vihar & has previously been involved in 43 cases i.e. 39 cases of Excise Act, one case of Arms Act and three cases of Other IPC.

RECOVERY:

1. 64 Cartons of illicit liquors (2200 quarters of Rashila Santra Country Made Liquor and 960 quarters of Bonnie Whisky).

2. One Opel Astra car used for commission of crime.

Investigation of the case is in progress to check whether the recovered liquor is spurious or otherwise.

GANG OF VEHICLE JACKERS AND SNATCHERS BUSTED: FIVE ACCUSED ARRESTED

The outer district police has busted a gang of chain snatchers, arrested five accused and recovered one maruti-800 car, one maruti van, One Tata Indigo Car, 3 motorcycles, five pledged gold chains which were earlier snatched and eight mobile phones from their possession. A total number of 20 cases of chain snatching, robbery, car jacking and auto lifting in the areas of North, North-west and Outer District have been worked out.

INCIDENT, TEAM & INVESTIGATION :

On 10-05-2010, at about 5.40 PM, SI Mahavir Singh alongwith ASI Roop lal, HC Mahavir Singh and staff while checking vehicle at Rithala police picket received a secret information that three youths driving maruti car bearing registration HP-37- 4771 shall be coming from Rithala Metro Station side. They are involved in the case of car jacking reported vide FIR No. 115/10 u/s 382 IPC PS Prashant Vihar.

Following the tip off the staff members present started checking vehicle by installing barricades. At about 5.50 PM the three suspicious looking youth were intercepted at the barricades. On being asked to produce the papers of the vehicle they could not reply satisfactorily. A team under the supervision of ACP Rohini Sh. Om Prakash, headed by Inspr. Swadesh Prakash, SHO Vijay Vihar, SI Mahavir Singh, HC Mahavir Singh, Ct. Ravinder, Ct.Kuldeep, Ct. Karmvir, Ct. Dhanraj was constituted to interrogate the youths. On sustained interrogation the accused disclosed that they had been involved in a number of snatching, robbery and auto lifting cases of North, North-West and Outer District.

MODUS OPERENDI:

They used to target especially old women finding them an easy target for snatching. The gang members used to steal motor bikes for the purpose of committing crime. They also used to steal unattended cars parked for joy riding. In a unique modus operandi, the gang members used to pledge the snatched gold chains with Muthoot Finance and obtain loan in lieu of chains. Five such receipts have been recovered from their possession.

PROFILE:

All the accused are school drop out and between the age group of 19-25 years. In order to maintain the lavish life style and drinking habits, they used to indulged in snatching, car jacking, auto lifting for making easy money with less risk.

GANG OF ROBBERS BUSTED: 3 ACCUSED ARRESTED

With the arrest of three accused namely Sikander, Parveen Kumar and Sonu the staff of PS S.P.Badli has busted a gang of robbers who are active in committing robberies with the pedestrians.

INCIDENT/BRIEF FACTS:

During the night intervening 19/20-04-10 at 0017 hrs, a PCR call was received at PS S.P.Badli that a vegetable vendor was robbed near the Park Budh Bazar Road, Sec-18, Rohini, by using knife. A case vide FIR No.103/10 U/S 307/392/397/34 IPC PS S.P. Badli was registered and investigation was taken up by SI Surender Singh.

TEAM AND INVESTIGATION:

On 08-05-2010 SI Sandeep Tushir No.D-4541, HC Raj Kumar No.288/OD and CT.Amarjeet No. 1366/OD were performing patrolling duty in a very active and sincere manner. At about 08.00 P.M, they received secret information that 3 boys who had committed robbery during the night of 19/20-04-10 are standing near the liquor shop at Libas Pur. On this information, they immediately swung into action and apprehend the culprits.

INTERROGATION

During the course of interrogation, they confessed that they used to rob people at the point of knife every time. They are addicted to consumption of liquor and commit petty robbery to meet their daily requirement. They do not hesitate to cause bodily injury as and when resistance is offered by the victim.

MODUS OPERANDI

Sikander is the leader of the gang and generally carry a knife with him for committing robbery. They identify the isolated areas to rob money from lone passersby in the night. After commission of the crime, they distribute the booty and separate themselves for few days in order to avoid their identification. They keep on changing their area of operation.
