Pace Car Program Available in the 9th District! The Pace Car Program is a citizen-based traffic calming initiative that encourages residents to take responsibility for their own driving while setting the "pace" for safer streets and neighborhoods. Residents will be able to sign an official pace car registration form and pledge the following: “Drive the speed limit on city streets, especially in residential areas, setting the pace for vehicles behind me; stop completely at STOP signs and don’t run red lights; be courteous to all bicyclists; pedestrians and other motorists; give myself enough travel time so that I am not sacrificing safety or courtesy; devote my full attention to driving by avoiding distractions, i.e.: cell phones; not be pressured by the impatience of other drivers to exceed the speed limit; keep my sense of humor, life’s too short to let driving stress my out!; and display the Metro Pace Car Program decals or bumper stickers.”
By signing this pledge you will receive an official pace car bumper sticker or car window sticker to display on your vehicle. The sticker will alert other drivers that they are taking part in the citizen- based effort to address the problems of traffic speed and safety.
To sign up for this program please click here to download the Official Pledge Form. Read, sign and date the form and return it to our office. Please indicate if you would prefer a bumper or window sticker for the program.

Reagan and Madison are no stranger to volunteerism, Reagan is the Host of the WLOU 1350’s New Joyful Praize Broadcast. Madison is the Co-host. Madison was one of the youngest State Honorees. She traveled to Washington D.C. representing Kentucky.
Over 500 copies of the books have been sold and more than $10,000 has been donated to charities. The books (both listed below) are available for purchase online at amazon.com and xlibris.com
3 | P a g e Petethra's Secret, published in 2012 was inspired by Madison’s & Reagan Roy's work with "Faces of Our Children, a non-profit organization that raises money for the fight against sickle cell anemia. Petethra's Secret deals with a child's internal struggle of being different and wanting to keep her sickle cell disease a secret, especially when she has to move and relocate to a new school and make new friends, all the while, keeping her secret that she has sickle cell anemia! Petethra struggles with the same questions most children have when they see themselves as being different. "What will people think of me?" "Will they like me?" "What if they shun me!" "How will I make friends?" Buy this book and support Faces of Our Children. Read how Petethra, a nine-year old resolves the internal conflict of being different.
Flower: A Girl with Leukemia. As its title indicates, this book is about a child suffering with leukemia. This book was written to raise money for the Kentucky/Southern Indiana Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The book is an easy one for children to read. It is a realistic fiction. Through fanciful imagination, the book exudes an atmosphere of love, strength, and hope by speaking through imaginary characters to teach children about leukemia, one of the most dreaded life- altering diseases that afflict children. This is a great book that parents and grandparents can give to children to enhance their own humanity and to instill the "human touch.
