NCSET Essential Tools Community Resource Mapping

Community Resource Mapping Tool 4: Scanning the Resources

Task: Produce a comprehensive list of the various resources in the community.

Process: Step 1: Across the top of the chart, identify your domains for improved outcomes (e.g., secondary education and graduation; postsec- ondary education and training; career preparation and employment; youth development and leadership; and supportive and adult ser- vices). Step 2: In the left-hand column, list the community resources including organizations, funded projects, initiatives, etc., that support your domains (e.g., workforce-development funded programs, Boys & Girls Clubs, faith-based organizations, school initiatives, etc). Step 3: In the columns to the right, indicate the services or supports provided by each community resource under the appropriate do- mains.
