Huntsville Blood Drive – In a time where money is scarce, it is nice to know there are other opportunities to give. Huntsville will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 9th from 1:30-6:00p.m. The Blood Drive will be held in the gym and anyone who donates blood will be entered into a drawing for door prizes. Prizes include a gift certificate to Dan River Coffee House, Charlie's Soap items, Always and Forever items, and massage sessions from Serenity Spa. If you would like to donate items for the drawing, please contact Kristy Ellison at Huntsville Elementary (427-3266). In addition, the class that brings in the most donors receives either a pizza or ice cream party. Every student who recruits a donor to come in will receive a red cross flashlight or a crazy yo yo. Our goal is to have 40 pints of blood donated.

Cyber Safety - Even children as young as our Huntsville Hounds can be negatively effected by the misuse of technology. The Rockingham County Student Health Centers and the RCS School Health Advisory Council are sponsoring a free seminar for RCS Parents & Teens. This seminar is targeting parents and their teens, however, it is open to all interested RCS parents. The modified title for the purpose of this flyer is "Texting, [], Cyberbullying, Social Networking" featuring Joe Showker, national Cyber Safety expert. The seminar is planned for Thursday March 11, 2010 @ 7:00 pm at the district’s Central Office (511 Harrington Hwy, Eden). For more information contact: Cathy DeMason, 336.623.9711 ext. 2341 or visiting http://www.rock.k12.nc.us/rockingham/cwp/view.asp?A=3&Q=291875. 3rd Annual Reading Conference – Please see side 2 of the newsletter for this EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT.
