Valleyview PTO Meeting Minutes

Attended by: Jenn Sorensen, Walt Baskin, Judi Visnosky, John Nealis, Erika Heller, Christina Comstock, and Michele Temming
1. Treasurer’s Report: Jeff was unable to attend tonight.
2. RIF: Stacy Mitchell is coordinating RIF week (November 19th). She has donated posters and bookmarks, along with her time, to RIF this year. RIF week will include daily “themed” days. (Monday – mismatch day, Tuesday – crazy hat/wig day, Wednesday – wear red, Thursday – magic glove day, and Friday – cape/robe day) Week will also culminate in our next Family Movie Night where we will be showing Mary Poppins.
3. Picture Day: Thanks to volunteers and their help at this event.
4. Save Around Books: Approximately $4,000 raised. Ideas were passed around about next year. Possibility of coupon cards versus books for next year?
5. Box Tops: Approximately $800 submitted. Keep collecting!
6. Movie Night: Popcorn donated thanks to Mr. Nealis. Next Movie Night will be Friday, November 21st at 6:30 and we will be showing Mary Poppins.
7. Restaurant Holiday Gift Certificate: Pondo’s, Nina’s, and Sloan’s are participating so far this year. Additional restaurants were suggested and will be contacted.
8. T-shirt sales: We would like to sell t-shirts/sweatshirts again this year. Please bring price quotes for royal blue shirts with yellow design to next month’s meeting. We would like to have items available for winter holidays.
9. After-school Scholarship: Michele will attempt to contact Mrs. Zuend-Misner regarding the details of this scholarship.
10. Girls on the Run: Coach is needed for this program. Anyone interested should please contact a PTO member for more information. 11. Halloween Float for Valleyview: Mr. Nealis will be creating a Viking themed float for this year’s Halloween Parade at 7pm. Students are asked to be lined up by 6 o’clock if they plan to walk/ride on the VV float.
12. Next PTO Meeting: Wednesday, November 19th at 6:30 in the library. Come join us!
