Be a Secret Santa for a foster dog Have you been watching the web site and saw a little one that touched your heart but can't adopt ? How about being a Secret Santa for that little one. They might wish for a new sweater or a special treat and you can help provide them with that wish. Sign up to be a Secret Santa and put a little twinkle in their eye this Christmas. There will be a listing of foster dog's and items they would like for the Holiday. Starting Nov. 15th. For example: blankets, treats, sweaters, etc. You may pick a foster dog to be a Secret Santa for and email me at [email protected] with the name of the foster dog you have chosen. I will send you the foster homes address. All items should be mailed to the foster home by Dec. 20th. You can see the furkids at: http://www.wolfspiritsrescue.com/info/events.php Thank you!

CRAFT SHOW If you would be in the Wadsworth area on December 7th, come visit our craft booth at Wadsworth High School from 9 am to 4 PM. There will be lots of good stuff there!

FEATURED THIS MONTH

MICKEY NEEDS A HOME I continue to be delightful with my foster mommy. I really don't like kids or men when they are moving - I'll bark. I'm such a sweetheart and I deserve my very own mom and home for Christmas or Hanukah or Kwanza or Ramadan. Heck, any holiday will do! I'll snuggle you for hours on end and give sweet kisses too. My foster mommy says I think would like to do agility training. I walk pretty well on a leash. I'm is neutered and up to date on my vaccinations as well as started on heartworm prevention. I'm very sweet and gives kisses as my tail wags like crazy. I need little time to adjust to living in a home but I'll be a great companion to have. Fenced yard is required for me as well as a home without toddlers since I've never been around them. My adoption fee is only $175 UPDATES - COOKIE 11/10/08 Cookie is slowly getting her appetite back and is currently eating homecooking, 3-4 meals per day. She is not having anymore bleeding and is slowly getting her strength back. She is still a little congested from her upper respiratory infection but with antibiotics, good meals and rest she is coughing less and less each day, and looking better each day also. We have donations of $336.00 of the needed $964.05. Any donations toward her bill would be greatly appreciated - we were just not prepared for something this unexpected and costly to happen. If you would like to help with our vet bill for Cookie, you can send something in via paypal to [email protected] Please indicate that it is for Cookie! Mail a donation directly to: WolfSpirit's 2506 9th St SW Canton, OH 44710 Or you can send/call in $ directly to the vets office for Cookie. Email Sandra - Cookie's foster mom for that information. INTAKES FOR OCTOBER We took in three furkids last month from the Cochocton Shelter. They are: Cookie, Dutch and Annie Oakley.

ADOPTION STORIES Just wanted to drop a line and let you know how Madison is doing. Madison is doing extremely well! She can now climb stairs and is sooo Proud of herself! She loves to go out in the yard to do her business with the girls. She sleeps in an orthopedic bed that is heated to help those little Legs of hers. She is very happy and well adjusted. We love her so much Even her intense snoring and snorting! THANK-YOU SO MUCH for letting Her be a part of our family. Carolyn

We have a 10 year old pleasantly spoiled Pomeranian named Lily who has been the center of attention all her life. I had been considering adopting a rescue for a while but wasn’t sure how my “only child” would react to the competition. I had lost my mother last year and somehow I felt the need to go ahead and look for a dog. I also thought Lily would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the house and started looking on different websites for a possible adoptee. I’m not sure how I ran across the Wolfspirits Rescue site, maybe thru Petfinder, I’m not sure but I feel that my mother somehow lead me to the right place.….all I know is that Bridgette’s profile seemed a perfect fit for our family and she seemed to be looking at me in her photo. After several e-mails and speaking with her foster mom, Dianne I was advised of Bridgette’s history as a puppy mill “breeder” . How she had been forced to have litter after litter during her short life and how she was found to be pregnant after she was rescued at a puppy mill auction. She had her last litter of puppies in freedom and after they were weaned, she was moved to her foster home with Dianne. After being accepted as Bridgette’s new mom, we took our other baby Lily up to Columbus for a meeting with Bridgette. They got along just fine. Bridgette snuggled up to Lily in the back seat and slept all the way home. It seemed like a match that was “meant to be” . We’ve had her for 6 months now and I can’t imagine not having her in our family. She is such a sweetheart and has bonded especially close to me. My husband loves her too and has been patiently, progressively gaining her trust. She is doing well with my husband but she follows me around and sleeps right next to me at night. When she looks at me with her sensitive eyes, I feel more certain that my mother had a part in helping me to find Bridgette. It’s hard not to overdo the spoiling because I feel that we need to “make up” for all the abuse she suffered before she was saved from the puppy mill. She doesn’t seem to mind the spoiling and has been thriving in her “forever home” . I am also happy to report that all of Bridgette’s “freedom” puppies have now been adopted. I can’t thank Wolfspirits enough for the work that they are doing in helping these poor angels find loving homes and giving them all happy endings (beginnings). Karen, Union, KY

PET HINTS - Home alone anxiety If Bowser becomes a weapon of mass destruction when home alone, the cause could simply be boredom, anxiety, or fear. To counter the boredom factor, be sure he has plenty of toys to chew, pull, and toss. Help him relax by leaving the radio or TV on at low volume while you're out. Soothing music and the sound of voices comforts a lonely pooch and may be enough to ease his anxiety. Finally, come and go calmly. If you don't make a big fuss of your departure and return, he might not, either.

WE NEED YOUR HELP....SPONSOR A FOSTER/DONATE WolfSpirit's has grown so much in the past years!!!! We are continually including a Foster/volunteer from other states. With more dogs, comes more vetting. EVERY Dog that comes into our care has to be isolated for two weeks, given vaccines, Wormed, heart worm checked and given prevention as well as spay or neuter. Some require dental work or some other special surgeries such as hernia repair. We have a wonderful relationship with our vets but they still have to charge us for The care given. So any small donation is welcome! We understand your calendar is full and time is precious. Why not sponsor a new Arrival? Whatever you can spare monthly is greatly appreciated. You can pick a Particular dog and designate that funds go the that dog. All monies will be used Towards feeding, vetting and the care of these little souls.
