Information About the “Help the Howie’s Dodge Cancer” Dodge Ball Tournament

PROJECT Maple Point Middle School’s 7th grade Academic Enrichment class has decided to organize a fundraising event supporting the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (http://caringforcarcinoid.com/) and the Howie family. Both Dennis Howie and his wife Jennifer Howie are beloved Neshaminy teachers. Three years ago Dennis Howie was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer, the type of cancer that the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) supports. Unfortunately, just recently, Jennifer Howie was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Throughout their journey, the Howies realized that charities like the American Cancer Society only donate an extremely small portion to rare cancers like Dennis’. Our fundraising event for the teacher’s we care so much about, appropriately named “Help The Howie’s Dodge Cancer,” is a dodge ball tournament held in the Maple Point gymnasium on Tuesday, June 5th, from 6-9pm. We are collecting money through ticket sales, concessions, and donations. Support in donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

Caring for Carcinoid Foundation The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation’s mission is to discover cures for carcinoid cancer, pancreatic neuroendorcrine cancer, and related neuroendocrine cancers. CFCF also works to eliminate the suffering of patients, families, and caregivers affected by neuroendocrine cancers.

Donations All of your proceeds will be donated to the Caring For Carcinoid Foundation. As we already mentioned, any donation will be much obliged. Checks should be made out to Maple Point Middle School.
