[3516] 2 1 she has served as Program Coordinator II for the Environmental 2 Quality Control Administration Office and for the last year for the 3 Bureau of Air Quality as well, all with South Carolina DHEC; and 4 5 Whereas, deeply involved in her community, Karen Sprayberry 6 has served in numerous capacities in the Junior League of 7 Columbia, including as a sustainer and as chair and cochair of the 8 organization’s Holiday Market. She also served as the chair of 9 Circle 8 for Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, a member of the 10 board of directors and chair of the Public Policy Committee of the 11 MidState Chapter Alzheimer’s Association, and secretary of the 12 Carolina Carillon; and 13 14 Whereas, she was honored with the Award of Appreciation from 15 the R.I.S.E. Project for her dedication to the Graniteville, 16 Vaucluse, and Warrenville communities in 2013 and three times 17 with the Team of the Year Award from the Environmental Quality 18 Control for SC DHEC. Five different years she received the 19 Michael D. Jarrett Outstanding Customer Service Award, and she 20 earned the United States EPA Environmental Justice Achievement 21 State Award; and 22 23 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of 24 Representatives are grateful for the years of unparalleled 25 dedication that Karen Sprayberry has devoted to the South 26 Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and 27 wish her many years of enjoyment in her wellearned retirement. 28 Now, therefore, 29 30 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 31 32 That the members of the House of Representatives/General 33 Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, 34 recognize and honor Karen Jacobs Sprayberry, Program 35 Coordinator II for the Bureau of Air Quality and the 36 Environmental Quality Control Administration Office of the South 37 Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, upon 38 the occasion of her retirement after more than twentyeight years of 39 exemplary service to the citizens of this State, and wish her 40 continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors. 41 42 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 43 Karen Jacobs Sprayberry.
