10.45 – 12.30 Session 1. Current developments in Arab countries and Future Programme of Work for Working Group IV

Arab countries are invited to present to the Working Group current developments and on-going activities on public service delivery, public-private partnerships and regulatory reform in their countries, identifying priorities and future activities to be implemented in the framework of the GfD Initiative.  Mr. Rashid Abdulrahman Ishaq, Director Recruitment, Civil Service Bureau, Bahrain.  Mr. Ashraf Abdel Wahab, Deputy Minister, Ministry of State for Administrative Development, Egypt.  Mr. Mohamed Al-Wreikat, Manager of Simplifying Procedures and Service Development, Ministry of Public Sector Development, Jordan.  Mrs. Joelle Fawaz, Magistrate, Department for Legislation and Consultations, Ministry of Justice, Lebanon. Ms. Rita Chidiac, Assistant Policy Analyst, Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR), Lebanon.  Ms. Rachida Idchabani, State Engineer, Department Manager, Ministry of Industry, Business and New Technologies, Morocco.  Mr. Khalil El-Rifai, Legal Advisor and Head of Legal Department, Palestinian Council of Ministers, Cabinet Secretariat, Palestinian National Authority. Moderator: Mr. Josef Konvitz, Head, Regulatory Policy Division, Public Governance and Territorial Development Directorate, OECD This session will present an opportunity for Arab countries to summarise future activities of the Working Group IV based on the results of the discussions. Participants are kindly invited to wrap up the activities that their countries would be interested in organising in 2008-2010.
