There are many ways in which we see this lived out daily in our schools and colleges: their inclusivity, their outreach to the vulnerable and their striving always for the very best education for our children and young people. One particular measure is our schools and college examination results, particularly at A Level and GCSE and 2018 has been a particularly strong year. Sixth Forms In the 16-19 age, as you can read later, there has been great success at St David’s 6th Form College and our schools are also reporting high achievement. This consultation process will give all involved with our community of Catholic schools the chance to ask questions about this exciting proposal. I am confident that the proposed 3-16 Catholic school in Cwmbran will be a strong and nurturing environment. I know the school will build on the ethos, success and achievements already recognised in the three separate schools it will replace. It will continue to build on the high standards of its feeder primaries by working in ever closer partnership with them. Our children deserve nothing less. Consultations on this proposal and a similar one for Merthyr will be taking place this Autumn.
