The Secrets Continue in Freeform’s ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Spinoff

Mona and Alison are back as and reprise their roles for Freeform's spinoff: Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

The drama from Pretty Little Liars executive producer I. Marlene King is based on the popular book series The Perfectionists by Pretty Little Liars author .

"At Freeform, we are committed to delivering shows that push boundaries and become a part of our viewers lives. Pretty Little Liars was a cultural phenomenon so it's no wonder fans wanted more." Karey Burke, executive vice president, programming and development, Freeform, said in a statement.

The series also stars Sofia Carson (Descendants), Sydney Park (The Walking Dead) and Eli Brown.

The spinoff is set in the seemingly perfect town of Beacon Heights, and follows three college friends who struggle with being overachievers. When someone snaps and the town experiences its first murder, each 'perfectionist' hides behind a secret, a lie and an alibi. "We can't wait to continue Marlene King's rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies from Beacon Heights who will hold just as many secrets and lies as Rosewood did," added Burke.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is produced by and Long Lake Media in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. King wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer with Leslie Morgenstein (Pretty Little Liars, ) and Gina Girolamo (The 100, The Originals).

The spinoff is set to debut in 2019.
