Community Comes Together at Orléans Festival!

The Shenkman Arts Centre was home to the inaugural Orléans Festival d’Orléans held on June 6, 2010 with over 2,000 participants. The Orléans Festival d’Orléans was born out the community’s desire to promote local talent, celebrate cultural diversity and share a little taste of Orléans with the world. On display were the works of local artists, artisans and chefs in the second annual Taste of Orléans event hosted by the Orléans BIA, that was incorporated into the festival. Ten local restaurants served up samples of their favorite menu items. Festival goers were treated to free performances with the energy of Steve Marriner’s blues and rock, the stomping sounds of BAM Percussion, the French Canadian folklore of Les Affreux Lurons and the lifting African drums of Cobra du Mandingue.
