2016 IADI Asia-Pacific and Regional Committee June 15-17, 2016

th ANNUAL MEETING INTERNATIONAL AND

14 CONFERENCE Theme: Raising Public Awareness on Depositor Protection

Hosted by the PHILIPPINE DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION MESSAGE

e invite you to the 14th Asia Pacific Regional Committee Meeting and International Conference on June 15-17, 2016 in , WPhilippines. Coming together for this annual gathering will demonstrate how much APRC has grown in number and importance over the past years. This year, we will congregate in Iloilo for an opportunity to renew our commitment to promote effective deposit insurance, and chart the role of APRC in the future. Aiming for better informed depositors and financial consumers will just be one of the things we need to work on with greater diligence and effectiveness.

For this year, the theme of the Conference is “Raising Public Awareness on Depositor Protection”. The Conference aims to harness information, insights, practices and other knowledge resources in the communication field towards effective public awareness programs consistent with the IADI Core Principles. This will provide a venue to encourage exchange of experience, challenges and lessons learned in developing and implementing effective public awareness programs among deposit insurance agencies. The Conference will likewise serve as a platform for dynamic interaction between invited communication experts and deposit insurance practitioners involved in public awareness programs.

Like the Philippine sailboat “”, the inspiration behind the conference logo, deposit insurers sail in a challenging territory that requires specialized skills to navigate through a wide ocean of information, communication channels, fast-moving technology, and evolving financial markets. Promoting public awareness on deposit insurance now takes on a greater challenge as we pursue fulfilling our role to protect depositors from the vulnerabilities and risks brought about by the fast changing financial landscape particularly felt in the Asia-Pacific region.

Online registration for the event is now open, and is free for all APRC Members, Associates, and invited institutions, while the APRC Meeting and the APRC Workshop are strictly for Invitation Only.

Please explore the website to be informed about the Conference Program, other activities, and accommodation arrangements for the delegates and guests.

We hope to see you all at the 14th APRC Meeting and International Conference in the warm and enchanting city of Iloilo in the .
