Notes from your tour guide: Some items mentioned in the itinerary may be subject to modification if I hear of particularly good orchid populations along the proposed route that are not currently included. However, at most, there will only be a few changes and we are likely to visit most stops shown in the current itinerary.

We will do four or five planned stops most days but, if time, also will do one or two additional opportunistic stops. The amount of time spent at each planned stop will vary depending on the number of orchids seen but will usually be between 45 minutes and one hour. Opportunistic stops will generally be around 30 minutes.

Orchids listed for each site are those that we are most likely to see but are not guaranteed with species/numbers seen depending on seasonal influences (rainfall). Note: We will also find species that are not listed.

The flora in Western Australia is protected so please do not pick flowers. Also, please be careful where you are treading. Some of the Western Australian orchids are very small and not always that obvious.

Please do not wander too far away from the group and try and keep others in site at all times.

I will let you know how long we will stay at each stop prior to leaving the bus and will get the bus driver to toot the horn when it is time to go. Once back on the bus and on our way to the next stop I will read out a list of the orchids seen.

There will be mosquitoes at some of the stops so I suggest you bring repellent.

I will have a range of books on orchids and other flora at the front of the bus. Please feel free to look at them whist we are travelling. Just make sure they are back in the box at the end of the day.

The trip is meant to be informal so feel free to ask me questions about orchids and other flora.
