Line a - Domestic Production and Airing or Religious Radio, Television Programming and Internet

The 700 Club is the primary program that CBN uses to prepare the world for the return of Jesus Christ. The 700 Club is a live television program that airs weekdays before a studio audience from The Christian Broadcasting Network's (CBN) broadcast facilities in Virginia Beach, Virginia. On the air continuously since 1966, it is one of the longest-running programs in broadcast history. Hosted by Pat Robertson, Terry Meeuwsen, Lisa Ryan, Kristi Watts and Gordon Robertson, with news anchor Lee Webb, The 700 Club is a mix of news and commentary, interviews, feature stories, and Christian ministry. The program is carried on ABC Family Channel cable network, FamilyNet, Trinity Broadcasting Network, and numerous U.S. television stations.

The 700 Club is a news/magazine program that has the variety and pacing of a morning show with in-depth investigative reporting by the CBN News team. Whether reporting live from the scene of a terrorist attack or a natural disaster, CBN News brings coverage on major events affecting our nation. The Washington Bureau reports on news from the Capitol and correspondents report on events and trends that shape the world from Moscow to Jerusalem . The 700 Club also includes live guests, special features, and music.

The 700 Club is an outgrowth of a 1963 telethon in which founder Pat Robertson asked 700 viewers to join the "700 Club" by pledging $10 a month, money needed to meet CBN's monthly budget. After a very successful "700 Club" telethon in 1966, Robertson decided to add to the end of his station's broadcast day a program with a format of prayer and ministry coupled with telephone response. He named it The 700 Club, hoping to build a nationwide audience based on this earlier success. Seen in 95% of the television markets across the United States, The 700 Club now airs in nearly 90 million homes and averages about one million viewers on a daily basis.

Over the years The 700 Club has become well known for its fresh and insightful interviews, hard-bitting special reports, and dramatic features. Some recent highlights include : " International news coverage on the persecution of Christians in Sudan, Pakistan, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Egypt, China, Burma and Indonesia; 2002 mid-term elections ; DC sniper attacks ; and the nuclear proliferation in Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. " Segments and features including: "Bring It On" where Pat Robertson fields surprising and often provocative questions on the spot. "Unsung Hero" segments highlighting people who quietly devote their time to helping others as well as a segment once a week known as The Church of the Week focusing on honoring churches for their stellar efforts in reaching people for the Kingdom of God; dramatic life changing stories of people who believe in the power of faith and prayer as wefl as powerful celebrity and sports testimonies by some of the above mentioned celebrities.

Line b - International Outreach

CBN WorldReach is the global outreach and international programming division of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). Launched in the fall of 1995, the goal of CBN WorldReach is to take the Gospel message around the world and share the love and hope of Jesus with those in need.

CBN WorldReach demonstrates innovation and integrity as it develops indigenous centers and partners with native Christian groups to spread the Gospel by I he strategic use of. television, radio, and video programming; discipleship; cell church planting; community-based humanitarian outreaches; and disaster relief efforts.

CBN WorldReach uses several key strategies in its worldwide evangelism efforts. The key strategy is to develop indigenous CBN centers that provide local outreach through the use of television, radio, internet, and video programming. Another important strategy is the development of partnerships with local Christian organizations to maximize resources and impact. The use of indigenous, recurring television programming in a country is a powerful outreach tool that will build a solid viewership base. CBN's creation of the "Media Blitz" has also proven to be an effective ministry tool to share Christian, family-oriented programming. "Media Blitzes" use animation specials, culturally-relevant television shows, radio programs, videotapes, and literature in world regions that have both advanced & limited technology.

CBN WorldReach focuses its evangelistic outreach in the following regions- Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, India, Indonesia, Europe, Southeast Asia, China, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Some key ministry accomplishments for WorldReach are as follows:

" More than 262 million salvations have been recorded since 1990. " More than 38 million salvations were recorded overseas in the year 2002. " WorldReach broadcasts have been viewed in more than 70 foreign languages. " WorldReach programs can be seen in more than 200 countries, and are accessible by more than 1.5 billion people around the world. " More than 4,000 cisterns and wells have been installed in India, Philippines, China, Africa and other locations around the world, bringing life-sustaining water to hundreds of thousands of people. " More than 400 bore wells have been dug in India this year, benefiting more than 200,000 people. " More than 10,000 people have been served bread, soup, and the Word of God at the Daily Bread projects in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). " More than 30,000 in-home cell churches are now operating in the CIS. " In 2002, in partnership with Operation Blessing, WorldReach conducted almost 400 medical, dental and surgical missions around the world treating nearly 250,000 people.

Line c - Operation of a Telephone Counseling Center

The National Counseling Center (NCC) is a department of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) that provides prayer, scriptural guidance and literature to people who call CBN's telephone prayer line. The center's phones are staffed by workers who are trained in offering comfort and encouragement from a biblical perspective. Additional workers are added during telethons and other special programming to handle the higher call volume.

The NCC operates toIR-free 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. In addition to serving those who call seeking spiritual comfort and guidance, the NCC also provides telephone support during CBN's annual telethons. On those occasions, the NCC activates hundreds of additional telephones to handle huge increases of those incoming calls. For most CBN partners, the NCC is their first line of contact

CBN's first telethon was held in 1963. After the telethon the telephone lines were kept active as prayer lines. More than 3,500 calls were answered that year. The National Counseling Center was established in 1974 to answer calls 24 hours a day. It received 279,902 calls in its first year. This year we anticipate three million calls.

Answering every call with scripture and forayer is the primary focus of the National Counseling Center. CBN1s prayer counselors listen with compassion to a caller's concerns, offer encouraging words from the Bible and pray for a solution to the caller's problem. NCC telephone staff also offer to send callers free literature from dozens of pamphlets covering relevant spiritual topics such as prayer, finances, marriage, salvation and other subjects that concern our callers. The NCC undergirds the various outreaches of CBN with intercessory prayer to see CBN accomplish its mission around the world.

Phone calls to CBN1s prayer line are categorized according to the subject matter discussed during the call. The number of calls to the prayer line and the number of people who made a decision to receive Jesus Christ as Savior have been recorded since 1963. Other call categories have been tracked since 1977. This data is used to measure our progress and strategize for future ministry. Key call category data for 2002 and since the inception of CBN's National Counseling Center are as follows:

Line d - Support of Operation Blessing and other ministries

CBN supports a wide range of ministries that share our mission. One of the key organizations that we support is Operation Blessing International Relief anti Development Corporation (OBI). CBN supports OBI by providing funds and other support.

OBI is a 501(c)(3) nonproft humanitarian organization that provides short-term medical, hunger and disaster relief and development assistance to people in need in the United States and overseas . OBI's key programs include The Hunger Strike Force, Dis;aster Relie4 and Medical Outreach .

From coast to coast and around the world, The Hunger Strike Force (HSF), is on the front line in the fight against hunger. By working closely with food processing companies, growers and manufacturers, OBI taps into America's surplus and gathers corporate donafions of food staples and relief product, delivering much-needed food and relief supplies to disadvantaged families and disaster victims. With mom than 120 monthly drop sites that serve over 5,000 ministries and relief groups, the HSF fleet of eighteen-wheel tractor-trailer trucks delivers millions of pounds of food, relief products and disaster relief to the needy. A 35,000 square-foot distribufion center in Virginia opened in 1994 and shortly thereafter another distribution center opened in California, making it possible to ship mixed loads of food and other goods.

Operation Blessing's medical outreach uses a wide array of programs to address the unmet medical needs in developing countries, providing health care access to people in places where it is inadequate. This includes Medical Missions where multi-national volunteer medical teams administer a full spectrum of healthcare, including general medical examinations and treatments, eye (exams and the provision of reading and prescription glasses, basic dentistry, minor surgery, the treatment of tropical diseases and malnutrition as well as other conditions related to poverty-stricken regions. In addition to sending medical teams, OBI mobilizes national healthcare workers to provide free or low-cost medical and dental services in rural areas so remote populations receive care. OBI frequently provides medical equipment and supplies to healthcare facilities in developing areas where supplies run low and equipment is impossible to get. OBI also addresses community health issues by providing access to basic medicines, medical supplies and training.

OBI responds quickly during disasters: hurricanes, earthquakes, terrorism, fires, ice storms, etc. When disasters strike, families are left without food, water, shelter or medical attention. OBI works closely with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and other humanitarian organizations to deliver life-sustaining supplies to community-bascd and international organizations for distribution . Across the country and around the world, OBI relief teams rush to the scene to aid individuals and families ravaged by disaster and disease.
