As per and Legend, Lord 's consort burnt herself alive in the Yajna (Yagya) to avenge an insult to Lord Shiva. The distraught Shiva picked corpse and gyrated his horrified dance. Then Lord moves his Chakra and cuts the Sati's body into fifty one pieces to save the earth from Shiva's wrath. All the fifty one places - where parts of Sati's body fell, became known as Peeths.

It is the place where Sati's eyes fell where this temple is situated. Therefore, this temple is known as Naina Devi.The word Naina is associated with Sati's eyes.

MAA DEVI

Chamunda Devi Temple is an attractive spot with glorious views of the mountains, the Baner Khud, Pathiar and Lahla forests. The Temple is situated 15 KM from Dharamshala on Palampur road. Chamunda Devi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Chamunda Devi. On reaching the temple, there is a great and superb view of Dhaula Dhar on three sides and Baner Khud flowing alongside the temple.

MAA JWALA DEVI


Jwala Devi (The Flaming Goddess) is recognized as one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of India, Jwalamukhi's Devi Temple, tended by the followers of Goraknath, is set against a cliff. The picturesque temple, built against a wooded spur, in the Indo-Sikh style, has a dome that was gilded by Mughal Emperor Akbar. An eternally burning flame that issues from a hollow rock in the sanctum is considered the manifestation of the goddess Devi.

The main attraction is the burning of 9 Flames without any fuel.

MAA DEVI


Chintpurni is one of the most visited religious place in India. Chintpurni is located in Una, Himachal Pradesh. It is surrounded by the Himalaya in the north and east in the smaller Shivalik range bordering the state of punjab.

The temple is situated on one of the highest peaks of the Sola Singhi range of hills. It is about 3 km west of Bharwain which is located on the Hoshiarpur - Dharmashala road. This road is part of the State Highway network and is normally kept in good shape throughout the year.

Private vehicles are usually not allowed beyond the Chintpurni bus stand which is about 1.5 km from the Temple. You would have to walk this distance. About half of this distance is up a gentle incline and through a very busy market.

The timing of the temple is from 4 AM to 11 PM

Reaching Maa Chintpurni Temple: There are a number of ways to get to Chintpurni from Delhi.

Delhi - Chandigarh - Ropar - Nangal - Una - Mubarakpur - Bharwain - Chintpurni

Various trains are available between Delhi and Chandigarh. Bus Service is also there on the Delhi-Chandigarh route (5 hours). Chintpurni is further 5 Hours away by bus service from Chandigarh.

Bus Service by Delhi and Himachal State Transport ply on the Delhi-Chandigarh-Chintpurni route. Bus Service on the Delhi-Chandigarh-Dharamshala and Delhi-Chandigarh-Palampur route are are are to either Bharwain or Chintpurni.

The nearest airport to reach there is at Gaggal, near Kangra. The distance to Chintpurni from here is about 60 KM. Domestic Air Buses fly to Gaggal via Chandigarh. The other airports from where Air Buses can be boarded are at Amritsar (160 KM) and Chandigarh (200 KM).

Maa Vaishno Devi Shrin is at an altitude of 5200 feet and a distance of approximately 13.5 kilometres (8.38851 miles) from Katra. Approximately 8 million pilgrims (yatris) visit the temple every year and it is the second most visited famous religious shrine in India, after Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board maintains the tasks to make the shrine. A Railway Link from Udhampur to Katra is also under construction for the pilgrims. MAA KANGRA DEVI / BRAJESHWARI DEVI

Maa Brajeshwari Devi, also called Vajreshvari Temple is located in the town of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India. As per Hindu Mythology, when Sati's body was cut into different pieces, the remaining parts were in this place. Some also believe that it was Sati's breast that fell here. A number of pilgrims come here from various parts to worship the Goddess in the temple. Some devotees cut off their tongues as a sign of devotion to Goddess. The tongues grow quickly, and sometimes on the spot heeling. Maa is worshipped here in the form of a pindi. The offerings to Goddess are divided into three parts each for Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati.


MAA BALASUNDRI DEVI


Maa Bala Sundri Temple is situated in , Himachal Pradesh, INDIA on an hillock about 24 KM South-West of Nahan.

The name TrilokPur means there is a triangle of three Shakti Temples, each depicting different faces of Goddess Maa Durga. The main temple situated at Trilok Pur is the Temple of Bhagwati Tripur Bala Sundry which depicts a beautiful childhood image of Goddess Durga. Another "Shakti Temple" dedicated to Bhagwati Lalita Devi depicting another image of Goddess Durga, is situated on a hillock located at a distance of three K.M. in front of the main temple of Bhagwati Bala Sundri. The third famous �Shakti temple� of �Tripur � is situated at a distance of 13 K.M. north west of Bala Sundri temple.

Built in 1573 by Raja Dip Prakash, this temple is situated at a distance of 23 km from Nahan and 6 km from Kala Amb, the gateway to Nahan from . Trilokpur is a place of great religious importance. The temple of the goddess Mahamaya Balasundri is very famous and attracts lakhs of pilgrims from all over Northern India, especially from Haryana and Himachal. A fair is held twice an year during the Navratras in March/April and September/October when a large number of devotees visit this temple and pay their respects to the goddess. This place is approachable by bus and taxi.

MAA BAGALAMUKHI DEVI

In Hindu Mythology and Legends, Bagalamukhi or Bagala is one of the Goddesses. Bagalamukhi Devi demolish the devotee's misconceptions and delusions. Goddess is also known as Pitambara in Northern India.

"Bagalamukhi" is named from the word "Bagala" and "mukha", that means "bridle" and "face" respectively. The name means one whose face has the power to capture or control and also represents the hypnotic power of the Goddess."
