Magnit and All- People’s Front Launch Cart of Kindness Campaign Magnit Retail Chain and the All-Russia People’s Front (ONF) announce the launch of the Cart of Kindness project under #МыВместе [WeUnited] initiative in 90 large-format stores of the Company. The project will allow customers to make their contribution to help elderly and disabled people in self- isolation. Krasnodar, May 18, 2020: As part of the initiative, Magnit will put special shopping carts near the checkout area of its supermarkets in 26 Russian regions. Charitable customers can then donate products by putting them in these carts. It is important to donate items with a long shelf life: groats, vegetable oil, sugar, tea, canned food, etc. Customers can pick up the products in one of the Chain’s supermarkets, pay for them at the checkout, and leave them in a special cart. ONF volunteers will be nearby to inform customers about the conditions of the project. The initiative will launch in Krasnodar, Armavir, Ulyanovsk, Ekaterinburg, Kemerovo, Tver, , Tula, Yaroslavl, Petrozavodsk, Vologda, , Volgograd, , and many other cities. When the carts are full, the volunteers will use the contents to prepare food packages and deliver those to citizens according to the list of people in need and applications submitted to the ONF.Help system. «We’re pleased to once again become a platform for collecting aid packages for those who are in a difficult life situation during the pandemic. If customers want to do good things, they don’t need to go somewhere special, because our stores are usually located within residential areas. We know full well how important such support is. Magnit is also trying to help — we provide food packages as part of our own federal project #МагнитЗабота [MagnitCare]. We see how happy lonely grandparents or large families are to receive such crucial aid during this period», — noted Ruslan Ismailov, Magnit’s Deputy CEO and Director for Retail Chain Management. «Our objective is to create an infrastructure of mutual public assistance. It is even more important now, when we see a growing demand for charitable food aid. More than 1,200 Carts of Kindness have already been deployed across the country. We are happy that one of the country’s largest retailers, which for its part is actively involved in helping those in need, has joined this project», — commented Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of All-Russia People’s Front.
