Draksharamam temple, also known as Dakshina Kasi,  is one of the most 2 Vasudeva Temple frequented pilgrim centre of South India. At the 3 Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary Draksharamam Temple, is worshipped as Bhimeshwara Swamy, along with his 4 Vijaya Picture Palace consort Manikyamba. The temple is also considered to be one of the Maha Peetha in India. Draksharama Temple along 5 Bhimeswara Theatre with Ksheerarama Temple in Palakol, Somarama Temple in , Amararama Temple in Amaravathi and Temple in forms the Pancharama Kshetram in Andhra Pradesh. These five temples are considered to be powerful Shiva temples in Southern India.

It is believed that this temple was built by the angels in a day. But they couldn't finish the outer wall before sunrise, which still stands incomplete. Numerous attempts to rebuild the missing part has been in vain. Historical evidence suggests the building of the temple began in 800 ADE and completed sometime in the 11th century.

The temple architecture is one of a kind and still studied by students of Architecture. It has a two stair mandapa with delicately carved pillars. The inner sanctum is exquisitely carved. Chronicles of many kingdoms, that ruled over the century, have been carved onto the temple walls. The inner sanctum has a very large crystal Shiva which is one of the longest Shiva in the world.
