Two librarians at the Westmount Public Library were instrumental in helping a cat reunite with its owner November 6. As Lora Baiocco and Daniel Miguez de Luca were eating lunch in the staffroom, they noticed a cat sitting outside the window. “She sat there for a while and watched us eat lunch,” recounted Baiocco. “It started to rain, and she didn’t move. I sus - pected that she was lost and not just a cat having an adventure. Many staff members became concerned for her.” Baiocco said she checked the website Petluck.ca and noticed a photo of a similar looking cat that had been lost near West - mount Park. With Miguez de Luca agree - ing it was a match, they called West - mounter Holly Simpson, the name associated with the Petluck cat, who con - firmed it was her cat when she arrived. “The rest is in the picture,” said Baiocco, referring to the one at left.

Holly Simpson, left, is reunited with her cat Taury November 6. The cat was spotted by librarians Lora Baiocco, middle, and Daniel Miguez de Luca, who took the group’s photo.
