The COVID-19 has resulted in schools shut all across the world. Globally, over 1.2 billion children are out of the classroom. As a result, education has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. The 2020–2021 school year is now endways, and with many schools remaining physically closed as the 2020–2021 year begins, there is more we need to understand and think through if we are to meet the crisis head-on. If students are to not see their temporary interruptions become sustained and are to regain lost ground, if teachers are to do their jobs effectively during and after the pandemic, and if our education system is to deliver on its excellence and equity goals during the next phases of this pandemic, it will be critical to identify which students are struggling most and how much learning and development they have lost out on, which factors are impeding their learning, what problems are preventing teachers from teaching these children, and, very critically, which investments must be made to address these challenges. For each child, this diagnostic assessment will deliver a unique answer, and the system will have to meet the child where he or she is. A strengthened system based on meeting children where they are and providing them with what they need will be key to lifting up children. This report briefly reviews the relevant literature on educational settings that have features in common with how education is occurring during the crisis and emerging evidence on opportunity gaps during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to propose a three-pronged plan. The plan covers the three Rs: (immediate) relief for schools, (short-term) recovery, and (long- term) rebuilding for schools and the education system as a whole. Since the COVID -19 pandemic has disrupted the normal lifestyle of people across the globe, the virtual world has come to the rescue. Amongst many institutions schools have also shifted their base to virtual platforms to conduct classes online. Consequently, catering to the needs of all stages of education from pre-primary to university level, online education has emerged as an alternative to ordinary face to face classes. Accordingly, various stakeholders such as government and private organizations are trying their best to assist each other by sprucing up their existing online platforms, apps and providing training to teachers to use these apps and platforms to the optimum level. Moreover, efforts are being made by both government and non-government organisations and ed-tech companies to support the school system to make a smooth transition to the virtual world. Upskilling and motivating teachers, organising counselling sessions for stakeholders such as teachers, parents and students are some of the important measures taken by the administration in the recent past. Making a continuous effort to provide customised teaching-learning material suitable for online classes is another way of facilitating the schooling of children. These efforts have proved beneficial to a sizable chunk of the school-going population.

Date/Event Description April Year Began Orientation Programme The aim was to familiarize the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic A parent is a teacher at home activities. and a teacher is a parent in The orientation programme proved to be a sincere effort made by the school in school and the child is the centre educating the parents to look after and guide their children in a proper manner. It of our universe.” also helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in

identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children. To make parent/students aware of the system of the school, school conducted orientation programme Students Enrichment Programs The institution frequently organises programmes to ensure holistic development of Counselling Sessions our students. The aim is to arouse the social conscience of student community, inculcate service mentality among students and to prepare them to be useful to the society. The enrichment programme enables students to realise their potential in a variety of settings beyond the classroom. Students develop a sense of self-awareness and an understanding of school and community needs and opportunities. They also learn how to apply their gifts and skills to make a positive impact. Teachers Enrichment Programs Teaches are a crucial and integral part of the education system. A great teacher is Trainings crucial to a student’s development and growth. So, how does one become a great Counselling Sessions teacher? As teachers, we are always concerned about the education the students Workshops receive. But rather than focusing on the classroom, we should take a step forward and think that if education is going to improve, we must work on improving initial teacher training. Personalized education is well, not rocket science, let’s be honest here – it is much more complicated. And the training for the teachers must be such that it makes the lives of students easier and learning effective which we do not see often. Teaching is an important process, but teacher is the fundamental element in this process and it is always the method which determines the output of the system. Blossom conducts teacher’s enrichment programs regularly. Evaluation It provides feedback to teachers and students regarding their strengths and Subject Enrichment Activity weaknesses. It does not mean that almost any test would be diagnostic. In effect, a Written Test score on any standardized evaluation gives some indication of student's performance Practical and also informs the teacher as to how successful he or she was in teaching the material. But the total score does not give any real information concerning specific areas of difficulty or their causes. Examination of the individual items in an achievement test would tell which answers are correct and which are wrong. Further these tests have not been constructed for diagnostic purposes. They have too few items per objective and the analysis of the wrong answers cannot lead to a diagnosis of

learning problems. Inspite of this fact, the achievement test may help in knowing the areas of weakness of an individual and the areas of poor performance by most of the students in a class. Thus, to some extent the achievement test may also serve the purpose of diagnostic testing. In order to use tests for diagnosis, they should be specifically designed for that purpose i.e. there should be a set of a large number of questions covering various parts and related area of the subject-matter for which diagnosis is to be done. Competitions Education and competition are two universal ingredients of all human cultures, in fact, of almost all animal life. Humans have always considered education and competition important issues, both in the past and in the present. Blossom always expose our students to the competitive words by conducting different competition. Parents Teachers Association PTA is a standard part of the school’s effort to build a strong partnership between parents and teachers. It helps both of them to find ways to work together to ensure the PTM child’s success. To share the progress and performance of the child with his/her parents, help the child to succeed in school. Teacher also understands that each "Education is a shared student is different and learns differently and no one knows the child better than communication between his/her parents. So the parents may provide the teacher some insight that will help the dedicated Teachers, motivated teacher to work more efficiently with the respective child. Students & enthusiastic Parents with High Expectations" Competitive Examination The purpose of competitive exams is not only to judge your talent but also to test your management and planning skills. The whole concept of any competitive exam is based on strategic thinking and smart work. To prepare students for the challenging path, required to take initial steps at a very early age. Students, irrespective of their career interest, should start appearing in various national and international-level competitive exams. 6th to 8th April Offline videos sent for Gr 1 to 8 7th April When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot fight, wealth becomes useless & intelligence cannot be applied”. Akshikar was born on 25th Sept 1864 in a village Akshi near Alibaug and hailed from a poor but respectable family. All the way through his life, he encouraged the promotion of education, which he felt is the base to ensure a dignified future. Gopalrao opened Dadar English School, later to be known as Chhabildas High School, on 2nd June 1889 to let the children of the working class have quality education which has earned a name for itself all over Maharashtra for quality education. His assistance for those who pursued education was generous and admired the performance of

bright students, more so, he had special consideration for those who were needy. The burning desire to educate the downtrodden compelled Gopalrao to open yet another school. It was his intention that no child should be deprived of education for want of funds and he did whatever he could to help all. So in the year 1890, Shri G. N. Akshikar promoted a high school namely ‘High School, Kalyan (Subhedarwada High School) and M.H. 2nd October We celebrate October 2 as the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Gandi Jayanti who led perhaps the biggest mass movement in the world. The hallmark of this movement was nonviolence. It is in recognition of his contributions that the United Lal Bhadur Shastri Jayanti Nations has declared October 2 as the International Day of Non-violence. October 2 is significant for yet another reason. It’s also the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, who resembled Gandhi in many ways — from his simplicity and honesty to conviction and courage. Shastri was a Gandhian on the issue of non- violence as well. After all, for Gandhi non-violence was never a sign of weakness or cowardice. It was his strength emanating from a moral courage and the Mahatma was very clear that when the choice was between violence and non-violence, the latter should prevail. This year GEI's blossom international school celebrated this by making a special video to our Blossomians and Blossom Buddies. Due to the current situation teacher’s prepared informative short presentation in the form of a video.
