Ronald McDonald Family Rooms Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide an oasis of calm for families with children in the neonatal or pediatric intensive care units. The Family Rooms provide a positive environment where families can rest and regroup while staying moments away from their critically ill children. There are three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Austin. A fourth family room at Seton Medical Center is scheduled to open in late summer 2014.

Ronald McDonald Family Room at St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas The Ronald McDonald Family Room at St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas is steps away from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) on the North Austin Medical Center campus. This was the first Family Room in Austin, opening in 2009. DID YOU KNOW? Ronald McDonald Family Room at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas In 2013, 783 families In 2011, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas stayed at our Ronald (RMHC Central Texas) opened the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Dell Children's Medical Center. Adjacent to the McDonald Family NICU, this Family Room is a two-bedroom facility that provides Rooms and had a haven for families who are caring for their hospitalized over 31,000 visits. children.

Ronald McDonald Family Room at St. David’s Medical Center RMHC Central Texas’ third and largest Family Room opened in July 2012, with four sleeping rooms, two ADA accessible restrooms, a living room and kitchenette. This Family Room serves families with children in the NICU.

Volunteer in the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms Our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms rely on volunteers to help staff the rooms and provide a comfortable, relaxing environment for families. Volunteers work a four-hour shift once a week. In addition, groups can conduct wish list drives to purchase much-needed items for the Family Rooms.
