NEW VOLUNTEER MINISTRIES IN THE KILLALOE DIOCESE: The Diocese of Killaloe is developing openings for two new lay volunteer ministries in the Diocese. Training programmes for the Ministry of Catechist and the Ministry of Pastoral Care will begin in the Autumn. These new ministries open to women and men, will be of interest to those already involved or those wishing to be more involved in the life of their local Church community. They will involve lay people working in side by side with priests in key ministries in parishes and pastoral areas. Brochures are available at the back of the Church or on the Diocesan Webpage. CLARE BRANCH OF THE PARKINSON’S ASSOCIATION OF IRELAND will meet at Carrigoran Health & Wellness Centre, Newmarket-on-Fergus at 10.00am on Friday next, 27th July. One of the Group’s aims is to link people with Parkinson’s, their carer’s, relatives, friends and interested health and care professionals. The meeting offers a forum for discussion, support and information and to raise awareness locally about Parkinson’s and problems associated with the condition. These informal meetings normally include a presentation by a healthcare professional or complementary therapist, as well as an activity that assists people living with Parkinson's such as Yoga, Dance, Physiotherapy or Tai Chi.
