London.— The Brnckner Theory, a thediT of definite 35 year -w^eath- er cycles, tells that 1927’s raininess IE IT is to be followed by a year of mod eration and sunshine. The theory of the late Professor Bruckner has been gaining in scientific support year atfer year as more close obser vations are contimially being made. The weather for 1928, according to the theory, will repeat the weather of 1893; every 35 years the weather in temperate zones is is- repeated. 1927 is supposed to have been similar to 1892, 1926, to 1891, etc. For Hundreds of Xears. Thirty-five year weather cycles were casually observed hundreds of years ago. The ancient philosopher Bacon wrote: “ Every five and thir ty years the same kind and sortes of years and weather comes about again.” More observation has add^ ed weight to the idea of these weather cycles. Professor Bruckner goes further y . ' . \ - than merely noticing the cycle’s ex istence. He puts it on a scientific basis; points to definite metorolo- ■rX y A gical forces and natural phenomena which bring it about. He takes the theory from tlie lap-robe of the / W ' V''' * astrologers, those mysterious rea ders of the stars, and he clothes the theory in the respectable man tle of science. Predictions of 1928's brightness came from observations of recent weather history. In recent times I periods of rain have started in c opimon 1836, 1871, and 1906.
