I was born in the Philippines. I live in a small village in the province of Iloilo, which is surrounded by mountains. Our livelihood is planting of rice and corn. In the month of March, we celebrate the Festival which every house serves plenty of food and in the afternoon, we also have games such as basketball, volleyball and some games for the smaller children, like statue dance, paper dance etc. The holiday season is the happiest holiday in the Philippines and I still miss the holidays every December.

I went to school at Cor Jesu College of Digos Davao del Sur. Cor Jesu College is a Roman Catholic educational institution in Digos City, Philippines. It is guided by the teachings of the Church and the Charism of its founders, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Wikipedia

I came to in hope of a better future for my children and myself. I do have family here in Canada. Some of the things I like about living in Calgary is the education that is available for my children. I also like walking down by river.

What I miss about living in the Philippines is the weather, the slow- paced life and family.

Yes!!! I have a favorite Filipino food. I love marinated fried milk fish and chicken tinola (chicken soup).

During an outing at Eau Claire Market, some people that work at the ATB branch downtown saw our staff and clients and came over to our group to say how impressed they were of how kind our staff were to the clients. They were so impressed that they handed out chocolates to everyone in the group ❤️❤️❤️

It’s HOT!! Get out there and enjoy the sunshine, but don’t forget to take precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones from the extreme heat.

9 Ways to Protect Your Skin

1. Wear sunscreen every day, in all weather and in every season. It should have a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 and say "broad-spectrum" on the label, which means it protects against the sun's UVA and UVB rays. Put it on at least 15 minutes before going outside. Use 1 ounce, which would fill a shot glass. 2. Reapply sunscreen at least every 80 minutes, or more often if you're sweating or swimming. 3. Wear sunglasses with total UV protection. 4. Wear wide-brimmed hats, and long-sleeved shirts and pants. 5. Avoid being out in the sun as much as possible from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 6. Check your skin regularly so you know what's normal for you and to notice any changes or new growths. 7. Choose cosmetics and contact lenses that offer UV protection. You still need to use sunscreen and wear sunglasses with broad-spectrum sun protection. 8. If you're a parent, protect your child's skin and practice those habits together. 9. Don't use tanning beds.

Monitor for symptoms of heat stroke, including:

• high body temperature • lack of sweat • disorientation • fainting • unconsciousness.

If you start to feel overheated, stop your activity immediately, seek shade and drink fluids. Seek medical attention immediately for any individual feeling faint.
