The purpose of this briefing is to provide you with the final amounts awarded through the Community Resilience Fund – Phase One (CRF). This background document will be proactively released on Sport NZ’s website on Wednesday 15 July 2020. Community Resilience Fund – Phase One overview 2. On 7 May 2020 Sport NZ announced a $25 million package to provide short-term relief to the play, active recreation and sport sector which had been adversely impacted during the Covid - 19 pandemic. The package was made available through savings achieved from the reprioritisation of Sport NZ’s work programme in the wake of Covid-19, as well as from drawing down on cash reserves. 3. The first fund made available through the short-term relief package was the CRF. The CRF opened on Monday 11 May 2020 and was administered through New Zealand’s 14 Regional Sport Trusts. 4. CRF Phase One closed on 19 June 2020 and outlined in the tables below are details of the recipients amounts awarded through the CRF. 5. Note: Funds paid to applicants were inclusive of Government Services Tax where applicable.
