He played for minor league c . head coach of the Big Green. Last year the Big Green captured a share of its first Ivy title since Gaudet was in net in 1980. The 2005-06 season gave Dartmouth its first- ever ECACHL title, sharing the honors with Colgate. Gaudet was also named the ECAC Hockey League’s Coach of the Year, making him the second coach to earn the award with two separate teams. He was also a finalist for the Division I Coach of the Year award. Gaudet has now had two Ivy League players of the year. Mike Ouellette earned the honor in 2005-06 while David Jones was given the title last season. Jones was also All-America, 6 giving Gaudet four back-to-back players to earn that award. 1 16 e Gaudet took over Brown’s coaching reins in 1988 and immediately g a went about transforming the Bears from a perennial cellar-dweller into one PPage of the ECAC’s top programs. Gaudet has begun the same process at Dartmouth. The Big Green finished 11th his first two years, eighth in 2000, fifth in ’01, third in ’05 and was tied for first last season. During Gaudet’s time at Brown, the Bears were crowned Ivy League champions twice (1991 and 1995) and, in 1993, made the school’s first NCAA appearance since 1976. In both 1993 and 1995, he was a finalist for Division I Coach of the Year honors. He was named ECAC Coach of the Year in 1995 after leading Brown to a second-place finish in the league, just one-and-a-half games behind first-place Clarkson. The Bears also spent y much of the year in and out of the top 10 in the national polls. e k Gaudet’s career coaching record stands at a respectable 244-277-68. c Gaudet originally came to Brown in 1988 following a five-year tenure o H as an assistant coach at Dartmouth. Eight individuals who have made unique contributions to amateur hockey in the United States will be recognized during the 2015 AHCA Convention in Naples, Florida, the women’s hockey honorees being recognized on Friday, May 1, and the men’s hockey award recipients feted on Saturday, May 2. Heading the list of award winners is former Boston University head coach Jack Parker, winner of 897 games and three national champi- onships during a 40-year career at BU. Parker will receive the John MacInnes Award. The Saints are the only remaining franchise to survive from the original inception of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in 1963. In 1972 the Edmonton Movers and Edmonton Maple Leafs combined to become the Edmonton Mets who, in turn became the Spruce Grove Mets in 1974. Under the direction of Doug Messier, the 1974-75 Spruce Grove Mets won the Centennial Cup Championship, the symbol of supremacy for Junior “A” hockey in Canada.
